Well I have played the demo and I must say this game is beautiful. I didn't think any game on PS3 this year would top Heavenly Sword in the graphics department but man was I wrong. Some of the little bushes on the ground actually move when you walk past them like in Crysis. TheAI is some of the best I have ever seenin a game theymove in such wide areas.I don't need to read any reviews for this game this game will be a day one purchase for me. Damn I'm glad I own a PS3. :D Back to CoD 4 now. 8)
First of all, the graphics might be very nice in Uncharted but Crysis is just leagues ahead of it.
Secondly, the AI in Crysis is one of the best ever made (and before any stupid fanboy says anything about this keep in mind that the demo only had ONE kind of unit and it was called camper. Obvious one of the weakest).
Lastly, unlike Uncharted, the levels in Crysis are a LOT bigger and are non-linear. Pretty much ANYTHING you see, you can go to.
Try to put all that into a single package and you got Crysis. No way in freakin hell is it possible for a console to manage that.

if my pentium 4 pc with a geforce 7900gs can run crysis on mdeium.. im sure ps3 can run it the same if not on high.. plus crytek is already making a ps3 game involving cry engine 2.. so i guess we will see how it turns out

Yeah a port of CryEngine 2 to PS3 has been in the works for a while now.
But Crytek has said that Crysis, in its current form, is not possible on consoles primarily due to memory limitations. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some kind of spin-off though.

no man, Crysis can not be done on the PS3 or 360. If you played the crysis demo, you would know why.

I agree with Renegade 110%. It's only a matter of time before developers really start to get a hold of the perfect harmony that is the CELL BROADBAND ENGINE and REALITY SYNTHESIZER GPU. Once the SPE's get fully used the PLAYSTATION 3's true powers will be unlcoked. I think that by late 2008/2009, we will start to see Crysis-esque graphics on some of the flagship titles on the PLAYSTATION 3 and by 2010, most games in general. The enemy AI in Uncharted is simply phenomenal, just shows you how powerful the CELL BROADBAND ENGINE is at running complex physics/AI code. Only a matter of time before optimization is looked at for RSX, then textures will be far superior. Can't wait till it drops, Naughty Dog/Insomniac/Sony I love ya!

Even if it ever manages to get Crysis-like graphics (which I doubt), there's no way they'll be able to make it open-ended like Crysis.

The problem with attempting to put Crysis on consoles has nothing to do with the systems power or devs getting a handle on the system. All next gen systems have very limited memory capacity. There is no way to work around this. If console owners are lucky enough to get a Crysis spin off they should just smile and be happy they at least got something.
As far as Crysis like graphics, possibly, but highly unlikely. Again, memory limits just how much can be put onscreen. I'm sure we'll see some pretty neat stuff by the time this gen is done, but it's just unrealistic to expect consoles to match graphics pushed on PC components that didn't even exist when the consoles were manufactured.
The only way either the ps3 or 360 could handle crysis looking the way it does would be if crysis were a corridor romp like what gears and uncharted (to a lesser extent) are... In uncharted you just play in jungle dressed hall ways and in gears in even smaller hallways and narrow paths dressed in warn-torn urban rags... in crysis just the 1st lvl is a friggin 20 square km island where any nook and cranny that one just happens to glance at looks better than any scene in Uncharted let alone Gears. I do admit that on MY pc the demo (mostly high cept shadows and post processing) isnt head and shoulders above uncharted but on a more capable rig its no contest... thinking otherwise is just wishfull and extremely optimistic

Thats weired, if anything it should make you realise how inferior the ps3 is to the pc and that no console game will match crysis. Uncharted literally looks like **** compared to crysis.
Maybe if the PS3 had 2 gb's of ram, and a more powerful GPU. But it doesn't, so no way the PS3 could do Crysis level graphics with the AI, physics, lighting, huge enviroments all at the same time. Unless you don't mind a downgrade in visuals and linear levels.
I don't know about Crysis. But after playing the Uncharted demo im more optimistic about this gen. Just look at the MGS3 jungle levels and then the Uncharted Jungle. WOW now that really feels next gen.

I totally agree, I mean I was showing my cousin how freakin real the environment looks and he was just amazed. I still cannot believe how naughty dog couldve pulled this off in such an early time of the PS3's life cycle. The game is just dead gorgeous and definately a must buy for me on day one. I wish I had a camera to take some screen shots from my 42 inch LCD HDTV of this game running in 1080p. Oh and by the way I been playing COD4 on my ps3 for 3 days and I dont no or is it just me or I havent felt any lag at all? Anyways uncharted to me personally will be an AAA title just from playing the demo, and I just cant see how it can get any less. Naughty Dog just has done a spectacular job with this game and it truelly is the best looking game ive ever seen for a console including over COD4. :)
Well back to COD4 and cant wait for Uncharted to come out, should be another runner up for game of the year aswell if the story kicks ass. :)

Dude I will admit that crysis does look better then uncharted but uncharted does not look like sh*t in any way. It comes in close for a console game and for a system that doesnt even have that much ram it just makes it more impressive with how beautiful this game looks.

The thing is, have you played Crysis? I have both demos. Clearly Crysis is the better game in everyway thus far. I don't want to get into technical terms with you so I will just say that the PS3 can not pull off Crysis at high-very high settings at the demanding resolutions that HDTVs require.. /end
LOL no it couldnt you have no clue what your talking about. Agame built ground up for a completely differnt processor would most likely tax any pc. The sheer amount of animations and physics alone would rape most pc's.

chances are you dont have both demos and probalby never played a PS3 the fact is the only thing the PS3 lacks to do a flawless version of Crysis is Ram( as said by the dev himself) and there is new streaming technologies being devleoped to cope with such issues.
