After this announcement I seriously don't know how can anyone prefer the PS4 now

For gaming enthusiasts, yes the damage is done. For mainstream casuals, college students, teenagers and brotards, this will slip through the cracks and the Xbone will still appeal to these demographics. HOWEVER.... $499 will be a huge problem. If it didn't work with the PS3, why would a price that high work now? PS4 has it right with $399, which is the sweet spot. Undisputedly the best value on the market, especially being more powerful than Xbone and arguably having better exclusives and much more games in development in general. If Sony can get more exclusives buckled down, they can easily win next gen.nep321a

That's right. Casuals, who like replaying the same COD, Battlefield and FIFA game over and over and over again.

Without Sony doing what they did Microsoft wouldn't have made the announcements they did today. Xbox One sales compared to PS4 were pretty abysmal as a result of the difference in philosophy. Microsoft had to change. To the people that couldn't get over their fanboyism and blindly followed Microsoft's anti-consumer policies, this is the result of competition and voting with your wallet and being a smart consumer.

I wouldn't pay an extra $100 for Kinect.

PS4 costs less, has stronger hardware, was straight-up in its DRM policies from the get-go, and is a friendlier environment to indie developers. That's enough reason for me to pick it over the Xbox One.1PMrFister

I don't know how people can still support Sony after charging them for online gaming, bricking people's PS3, epic mega hack, PS4 exclusives running at 20 FPS, third party games freezing on PS4, faiure of move, psp go, psp, wonderbook, PS mobile, Vita. (all paperweights)

Ps4 is STILL 50% more powerful, STILL $100 cheaper, STILL supports Inde games, STILL has excluisve content, and STILL has better 1st party games.

Seems like this news had an immediate impact.....PS4 dropped to 3rd on Amazon and X1 is in the lead now. When you think about it now, in retrospect, X1 won at E3 because really Sony's only big news at E3 was that they supported used games.....they barely marketed their system and in turn simply reacted to news Microsoft was dishing out.....now that MS matched Sony's policies, the only other thing Sony did at E3 was to announce that online gaming would no longer be free on PSN. That being said the PS4 will likely still offer must-have exclusives and at 400$ it will be a nice secondary console for me, but they need to show more games.

This gen hasn't even started :| Sony has always been very good with their exclusives, releasing them throughout the entire gen. Microsoft moneyhats companies for exclusives, releases them all close to each other. This is good for the short term, but that's it.
