Celebrate the greatness of AoEII.
AOEII was much different than AOE1. Everything was casualized, and instead of strategizing maneuver everything was simpler with button clicks and automated messages.
Personally, I used archers in the pervious online with clans, and other sorts, so setting up distance was perfect for me, even on hills and on ships while still having to keep track, and returning to base without cheats basically, you couldn't do it with II as everything was slower, and buttons were more effective.
But I can see why the sequels were still attractive to some, while for others, it wasn't only about building bigger buildings and making easier money, but the way you won, and the finish.
