you do realise that in 1995 the saturn and playstation were out wihch completely kicked the crap outta PC's until Voodoo 1/Voodoo 2 came out and was taken advantage of right?

Actually that same game you mentioned was ported to the saturn, using a re-worked powerslave engine, and actually had better lighting (using real dynamic light points). Sprites weren't quite as detailed due to memory though, but you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Just a note, I'm not disputing PC's hardware power...just that point in time. :P

Graphics alone don't make for a great game. Remember Dragons Lair? I was blown away with how that game looked, but it sucked hard.

Not disputing that, but the thread was started based on graphics.

Posted XCOM earlier, 1-3 were simply some of the best games ever made, loved em.

EDIT ooo and Syndicate, god that game felt like a jump in gaming lol I used to love running round and gathering a vast army of peons armed with kick ass weapons!

If ur up to it people contine with me on this trip down memory lane and maybe we even educate some of the SW population :)dispator
I love how it's assumed that consolites know absolutely nothing about the history of PC gaming. :roll: I have a box full of games in my closet that would suggest otherwise - MechWarrior 2, both System Shocks, Thief, Duke Nukem 3D, Terminal Velocity, Rise of the Triad, X-Wing & TIE Fighter, Dark Forces & Jedi Knight, the original Rainbow Six games, Crusader, MDK, Magic Carpet, you name it. But please, feel free to "educate" me. I must need it, what with being a consolite and all.

I'll tell you what, the "multiplayer" era of game on PC's STOLE MY LIFE!. Between Diablo, UT, Tribes, and Quake...I was non existant to the world.

Before that...0o0o Blake Stone, Duke Nukem, Rise of the Triad, Blood, Hexen, Doom, Commander Keen, Jazz the jackrabbit, etc...0o0o boy...gaming the 90's was some of the best period. esp! 94-99.....thank you god for those experiences.

[QUOTE="-hells-"]

People preffer consoles over Pc's and PC's over consoles for their own reasons. For some people the best gfx or games library doesnt matter as much as ease of use.PC gaming and console gaming are 2 radically different things which can not be compared easily and when people realize that system wars will be a better place

skrat_01

Its system wars. People boast about systems and rub it in eachothers faces here. This is no surprise. Personally I think deciding to bar out other systems, simply denies you experiences that cannot be had elsewhere.

I play all xbox games on pc or at mates house. i dont think i'm really 'barred' out. Maybe on psp games... Anyway, it was all about CS. Any CS fan will know how glorious those days were. Also i love games like RollerCoaster Tycoon, the total war series, civ series, red alert series and many other RPGs and RTS and FPS. Oh, and anyone who used to paly flight simulator will know how inferior consoles really are.

I was expecting a little bit more than 4 measly screenshots....

Duke Nukem was good, Warcraft II > Warcraft.

Gxgear
Me too, the OP fails by lack of content. He has a hella load to work with too.
