Remedy has stated they have big plans for 2013

1357120697.jpg

Could it be the much anticipated announcement of Alan Wake 2 ? I hope so.

Signs point to it though, Remedy has stated before on their website that they are working on a next gen title. Let's hope they bring it to both PC and Xbox on the same date this time though. A PS4 version would be great too.

What would you want from an Alan Wake sequel ?

Yeah I hope so too. But the situation could also be like this:

MS announces their new Xbox at E3 and shows off Alan Wake 2 as exclusive.

They already improved the mechanics a bit in AN. Also giving you the ability to sprint longer than 4 seconds without Alan getting a heartattack. I won't ask much of AW2. Just make it like the first one. That'll make me happy.

Same here. Alan Wake was an amazing game to me. Only complained I had was that there should be more variety in enemies and weapons.

American Nightmare fixed exactly that. But unfortunately gave less variety in environments:P

True. Here's to hoping they take all the good from Alan Wake combined with the improvements of AN. It's a day 1 regardless though :P

I loved Alan Wake and American Nightmare a lot. They both have plenty of that Remedy charm I know and love from Max Payne!

The only issues I had with them was how they'd get somewhat repetitive after a while, there simply wasn't enough enemy and weapon variety, the combat started feeling overly familiar too fast, there was nothing to shake things up. If they can fix that, I strongly welcome the sequel!

Only thing I'd like to see them do is change the scenery up a bit. Heading into the woods for the #9000th time did get little old towards the end.

About AN, while there was a larger weapon selection, the guns still all felt too similiar to each other, none had some distinct and memorable feel, sadly...

But at least they gave us some more enemy variety, that is true. As for enviroments recycling, I didn't have many problems with that, but only because we're talking about a downloadable game. Also, I think the level design was rather smart, the backtracking very rarely felt tedious, at least for me...

Alan Wake was a fantastic game imo. AN improved the gameplay, but was still a bit of a disapointment to me. I guess I didn't realy like the setting and the structure of the game. But a new Alan Wake game on next gen hardware would be fantastic news. I wonder what we will see in terms of new light effects. Bring on the firework :D!

Cool if true, though the first title sold terribly. If it does come then it will be a 720 game most likely.

Remedy's exclusivity contract with MS about the Alan Wake IP expired a while ago, which is the reason why we got the PC version in the first place. Furthermore, take a look at this...

We'll get the PC version for sure, and probably even the PS3 version...

Ah, I was under the impression that it sold terribly. 2 million is good in real life, though on SW it's considered a flop.

It was one of the few games that had great atmosphere, when you are in that cabin and the shadow goes across, that really freaked me out. But the game kind of lost the ball later on, and the last boss was a gust of wind. No joke.

Absolutely ! Day one buy. I want to see the story continue.

If it's timed exclusive again then I will have to buy the Xbox and PC version both again :P

The levels changed a bit each time you played them. And so did the characters and situations you encountered.

They didn't recycle them, but they could have done more with them imo.

Rocker6

Yeah, its only a small complaint I have about AN. Also there is the confusing story.
Did AN even take place or was it all a dream from Barry?
Also I really loved the nail gun and crossbow. And some really powerful weapons you got near the end.

Yes Alan Wakes lighting was amazing. Really helped to set its atmosphere (light vs dark).

I can't wait to see what they will deliver on next gen consoles and PC:shock:

I really hope MS is not publishing this one. So PC gamers get to enjoy it day one, and a PS4 version would be cool too.

But Remedy is not a big team so a PS4 version is doubtful.

Also PC got American Nightmare rather quick after the 360 version... From the 6 or so games Remedy has made only one took a long while to get to PC. All of Remedies games have been released on PC. Shadowmoses is speaking nonsense again. What a surprise.

I really liked Alan wake and AN. So I'm up for more. Like to see using different light to effect, varied environments. In a vehicle I should have high beams that ar more powerful than my flaslight. But I really liked atmosphere and story so love to see more.

Great news if it's true. Hopefully MS will do a better job of marketing the second one. Most none gamers never heard of the first one, and releasing it on the same day as RDR was rather stupid.

I think M$ will try to get this as a timed-exclusive for the 720. Badosh
I don't see why. Only if they desperately need exclusives. The game sold like sh!t on xbox even though it was a remedy game. And i think it sold really well on PC despite being a old game. Remedy should be smart and get the game out on as many platforms as they can.
