Double that sub-HD number, and you got yourself a PC version, which is rather nice to look at! ;)

I found Alan Wake to be a great looking game on 360. And on PC it looked great too. Remedy did a fine job on the port
Also American Nightmare looks superb for a downloadable game.
Nice. I really enjoyed AW on the PC. Lets just hope it wont be a X720 (or w/e it'll be called) exclusive or I wont be able to play it.

Well, never saw it run on the 360 so can't comment on it, but 540p... that just rubs me the wrong way! :P
But yeah both games looks wonderful on the PC, and show us how late ports should be done. Also, just to note, Remedy had help from another dev, Nitro Games, while working on the port...
And in regards to your previous comment, yeah, missed the crossbow. I found all the pages, unlocked the weapon chests, but guess I simply never picked it up and used it... :(
Did anybody buy Alan Wake 1?PAL360
I got it, beat it twice and want a sequel.
no games on 360 confirmedWell, never saw it run on the 360 so can't comment on it, but 540p... that just rubs me the wrong way! :P

I think they have done the port in a rather short time. Stellar job from Remedy and Nitro.
Didn't even notice it was 540p, it looked fine on my 32" 1080p TV and my brothers 54" 1080p TV. Could've fooled me it was 720p:P
All the more reason to replay it, hehe ! Or if you want to know where it is:
In the third level there is a shack when you go down to the drive in theater and take a right before you get to it.
More variety in enemies and combat scenarios.
Less contrived moments. Like how the original Alan Wake found dumb ways to take weapons away from you or force you into a forrest.
Maybe actually incorporate a more open, less linear environment. I like my games recently to be less one direction, and more I got a few different routes I can take.
Alan Wake was fun enough, and I can dig anything that has a Twin Peaks vibe. But there are plenty of areas they can imrpove on. That said Sam Lake is still on it, so I still want to play it, because Sam Lake is awesome. Plus he can do a mean Max Payne face.
Nice, I really really enjoyed the first game. Also they said before they have a face tech to rival LA Noire's for AW2, can't remember where I saw that though

I know what you are talking about. There was this one moment at the dam where your friends got in the elevator and you had to hold down the button. I knew right then and there that something would happen to the clear path forward, that I couldn't take it anymore and I would be split up from my friends.
I love Sam Lake, he is my favourite game writer.
Unless its 100% open world like AW1 was supposed to be, fk this.silversix_
Alan Wake worked perfectly as a linear game imo. They could have given more freedom, yes. I hope they give more of that in the sequel.
BUT I don't see how Alan Wake as it is now could have worked as an open world game. No way the story or atmosphere would be as good if it were open world.
new ip please. Even though i havnt played max payne 1 + 2..i LOVE 3 (diff dev i know) but you can tell what the foundations were and how the first 2 games would have been like. Alan wake ive enjoyed as well.. as far as im concerned, these guys are good.campzor
Do check out Max Payne 1&2. They have aged really well. And if you liked 3 you will love 1&2.
Also that TV show where Sam Lake was on in Alan Wake was awesome ! I love their meta references in Max Payne 1 and Alan Wake:P
Alan Wake was a fantastic game imo. AN improved the gameplay, but was still a bit of a disapointment to me. I guess I didn't realy like the setting and the structure of the game. But a new Alan Wake game on next gen hardware would be fantastic news. I wonder what we will see in terms of new light effects. Bring on the firework :D!

Maybe now with the new consoles, they can match their original vision.
Well they story is alright I guess, the end of the first game was pretty dumb though. R4gn4r0k
The original bossfight was rather weak. But the ones in the last episode of alan wake (DLC on 360) and American Nightmare were great.
That's good to hear. Not sure if i got the DLC with the AW Steam package I got tho but nice knowing American Nightmare is better. That's good to hear. Not sure if i got the DLC with the AW Steam package I got tho but nice knowing American Nightmare is better. Heil68
You do. You have all the chapters of the main game and you have two episodes (the DLC on 360): The Signal and The Writer.
If you haven't, play them first before American Nightmare to get all of the story:)

hey r4gnarok whats up??PinnacleGamingP
Nothing much, I think I'll be going to bed soon because I had a really busy day. And you ?
Not that that was very interesting though:P what is more interesting is that 2013 will be an amazing year when it comes to game releases
I'll definitely get it if it's announced, but I kinda like how Alan Wake ended and thought it doesn't need a sequel, just it's own perfect game.
But I haven't played American Nightmare yet I need to buy that
hey nirdberd awesome new avatar it sure beats your old old man one, who is she btw?
hey r4gnarok whats up??R4gn4r0k

The way alan wake ended was it set up a sequel...
Alan Wake was about the novel 'Departue' which Alan had written but knew nothing about. At the end of the game he starts writing a new one as his way out of the place he is in now. This sequel is calledReturn
Sorry, I never played the DLC either, I'll probably buy it tonight then :P
Alan Wake was sitting in my backlog for 2 years and I finally beat it this year

i knew it was from RE!! almost thought it was britney spears as a younger aged thoThe first Alan Wake was amazing. Loved the great atmosphere, story and enemies. I was kinda dissapointed with American Nightmare, hopefully they'll do better with Alan Wake 2.
Also, do you guys want them to continue their Bright Falls mini serie? The show was actually pretty good, while it only lasted 35 minutes
I liked the first one a lot, I just hope if they do make a sequel that they will get rid of the repetitive gameplay. It was very solid, but still repetitive.
Did anybody buy Alan Wake 1?nini200
I sure did. I found Alan Wake a better game than Heavy Rain. The silly Six-axis sequences in Heavy Rain was a big turn-off.

Still haven't played one but a second one sounds good to me. I think they would save it for a 720 launch title.
