I say 8.0. For some reason I was expecting a bit more. And it appears the game may have far too many scripted events to interupt gameplay.

AA, I never saw what made lemmings hype this game really. Messiahbolical-The team behind it, Remedy Entertainment, was responsible for the critically acclaimed Max Payne series (two of the best action games ever made). Their writer, Sam Lake, is one of the best in the industry. He is writing Alan Wake as well, so we know the script will be top notch.
[QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"]AA, I never saw what made lemmings hype this game really. mitu123Dude, if you play the Max Payne games and see who made them, then that's your answer.
yep. Anyway i would say a 9.0. maybe 9.5. I just cant wait any longer.....
If crap like Resistance 2 and inFamous can get AAA so can something brilliant like Alan Wake.
Oh, and calm down cows, I love inFamous. =)
AA or AAA doesn't really matter to me though I'm still picking up the game. As long as it doesn't come out like Silent Hill Homecoming and RE5 (not a bad game just not a true horror title).

So if you hype a game for a particular platform, you are automatically a fanboy?
Obviously you're the fanboy if thats the way you think.
I'm super hyped for New Super Mario Bros. Wii.... so I guess I'm a sheep...?
But wait, I'm really hyped for Alan Wake.... so I'm a Lemming? No wait, I'm gonna get it for PC... so I guess I'm a Hermit now? right?
Oh... but I really want Halo ODST & SHadow Complex...... Oh, I'm a Lemming now, I guess.
Even though I'm hyped and I thought it looked excellent, plus Remedy and Sam Lake provide one hell of an experience, I'm afraid that the light may be a bit annoying and frustrating like the fire in Alone In The Dark, so therefore I say AA. God, I hope it's AAA, though. Either way it's still a buy.
You're excuse for it getting an 8 is a because a rehash got a 7.5 on here? mmmmkon gamespot? i say 8.0 at best. i mean, ratchet future 1 got a 7.5. so i expect a 7.5+ on this.
SilverChimera
AAA
I am sort of dissapointed with what I saw tho... Too much action, not enough tension (might just be that part of the game, but still)
The story is one I think is awesome, and somehow reminds me of "in the mouth of madness" which is a very good take on horror.
I thought that it would overall be a mix of in the mouth of madness and twinpeaks, I did know that there would be serious supernatural things in the game, but I just hoped they would be fewer, and harder to kill...
and I did not care a whole lot for the light mechanic, the rest looks good.

What does Ratchet have to do with Alan Wake? :?
I'm expecting AAA here, since I know Remedy will deliver.
AAA, Remedy has yet to disappoint.AAllxxjjnnThis. In fact after seeing the footage I want to play it even more.ANd I haven't forgotten the weather effect demo that Intel showed for their Quad core chip when it was announced. Oh, well lookie here. I have a quad core PC. Hmmmmmmmm.
Tasty.
it seems like alan wake will be a memorable and exciting experience for the interesting premise and story telling, but a very unspectacular game. To be fair, survival horror tends to be unspectacular, so maybe, 8.0-ish? The music and sound is great, but the actual events aren't scary or suspenseful really from the trailer shown.
