Never buy an Alienware premade PC - they're incredibly overpriced and crap. In the case of the x51, you end up spending too much money to make it even decent. It's a lot better to buy all the necessary parts and assemble a custom PC by yourself really.Â
Seriously, it's not worth it.Â

:? ....yeah, I don't know many people that are suggesting it's on par with a 680. The gimped UE4 elemental demo for PS4 dipped below 30fps, whereas the non-gimped PC version that was running on a 680 maintained a solid 60fps (with a few dips down to 58 every once and a while).Â

I had a 7800 gtx/x1800xt when xbox360 launched it could run games better than 360 at launch but later in it's lifespan i couldnt run the same games as 360 without upgrading the gpu.Â
Were you aiming for 30fps, low-med settings, and 720p or below?Â
I ain't really tempted to buy a overpriced custom PC, when I can get the same tech in a much cheaper one. For people who does'nt want to build a PC from the ground up, I recommend buying a complete PC from a cheaper brand, and then upgrading them later on. You should buy one with a good CPU, RAM, and a seperate GPU from AMD or Nvidia, and then upgrade the GPU and maybe the powersupply later on. Those are pretty easy to upgrade.
Get a PS4. eventhough i have an alienware, atleast the PS4 will have great exclusive games unlike the PC.

Well, the unibody does act as a giant heatsink but there is nowhere really for air to be sucked in. Plus, I need to take the bottom off and give it a dust out.[QUOTE="Tessellation"]just being honest , and i am apple products user.. some cow claims he plays every game at 60fps/1080p with his macbook pro retina with a GTX650m  I've got a 17in MBP with a AMD 6750M and I've turned all the settings to low in GW2 and I get about 30FPS at 1920x1200. there is not point playing on low :([QUOTE="lostrib"]

I might get better results with my 27in iMac with its 6770M but its only got an i5 and 4GB of RAM. That being said, I don't know why I would play it on my iMac when I have my gaming PC  I'm only playing it on my MBP because I'm round a friends place and I can't be arsed to lug my gaming PC around.

As games shift towards shader compute heavy games, 7800 gtx/x1800xt was shown to have inferior shader feature capabilities.
@haters, shut up. You don't know anything about the X51! Heck, your most likely just jealous that you cant afford or have an alienware. All three of these machines will run between $500-600. On topic, I own an X51(2nd tier). Its a very powerful beast for what it is. It will easily outperform both the PS4 and the Xbox720 (or whatever its going to be called). @OP, the X51 easily runs new games(Battlefield 3, crysis 2, etc) on high settings at high resolutions at very playable FPS amounts. Even the base version of the X51 will out perform both those consoles. The GPU in the X51 is a OEM version and not retail version(GDDRM 5 not retail GDDRM 3). The base GPU they use is about on par as a GTX 650. Lazer-Sniper51
650? PS4's GCN is between 7850 and 7870 Ghz Edition.
PS4's GPU is closer to "HIS Radeon HD 7850 4GB iPower IceQ Turbo" http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/his_radeon_7850_ipower_iceq_4gb_review,1.html
X51 with GTX 650 Ti will NOT outperform PS4.

PS; 7870 XT (2.84 TFLOPS) uses a cutdown 7950/7970 chip design and generally faster than 7870 Ghz Edition. 7870 XT can be swap with Geforce GTX 660 Ti e.g. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/pny-video-card-vcggtx660txpb
Both Geforce GTX 660 Ti (GK104) and Radeon HD 7870 XT (Tahiti LE) uses the flagship type GPUs.

For AMD camp, Radeon HD 7750M would be required to rival GeForce GT 650M (GK107) .

On GpGPU compute, AMD Radeon HD 7850 would destroy your GeForce GTX 660.
