Agreed, although you would think they would hype Uncharted more. That looks original and fun to me. UT3 will own on the PC, which is the platform I'm getting it for.

Unfortunately the only games I'm really looking at getting for my PS3 this year is Heavenly Sword and Uncharted. Lair looks like great eye candy, but gaming is about more than eye candy, which I'm sure will reflect on its reviews. The Wii is basically a dead stick to me right now, aside from SSBB. The 360 and PC seem to be the platforms that are generating the most hype for me right now. Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, PGR4, Lost Odyssey, Crysis, etc. Looks like those two platforms will dominate this holiday season as far as the games go.

Actually the original Halo won many GOTY awards, including the one the industry as a whole considers to be the GOTY award in AIAS. Gamespot is just a small equation to the overall picture. Remember that.

I don't know what videos you've been watching, but all the gameplay demonstrations I've seen look amazing. :| The animations are fine, but dull graphics? Are you kidding me? Haze looks outstanding... :|

Either way, the story and multiplayer are the main attractions of Haze.

mass effect looks pretty but its gameplay looks crud

bioshock (95% PC gamer 10/10 OXM) its AAA confirmed and by the sounds of it is pretty darn immense

GTA IV's previews are all positive and it sounds equally as epic but in a different sense.

Gametrailer vids of the dev diaries and the one E3 trailer over PSN in HD. I was hyped for this game until I saw those. The game looks completely generic and the graphics are about as overrated as KZ2's, except KZ2 actually has decent animations. Both look like a new Resistance to me, meaning they will be generic and boring. Of course I know cows are hurting bad for games so they will hype any old POS that comes there way so this really isn't a surprise I guess. :| I would rather hype Heavenly Sword or Uncharted: DF than Haze. At least both of those games look decent and hopefully will play decent (The HS demo was pretty good, but not GOTY good).

Any way, each to their own I guess.

And second, so you haven't even watched gameplay, then. Didn't think so. The dev diaries and the E3 trailer had short clips of gameplay. Go actually search for some real gameplay videos, they're out there. The game really isn't generic... c'mon. The game is giving everyone a different outlook on war. The game isn't "ok those are the bad guys, you're a good guy, go kill them" like your actual generic game would be (I'm not calling all games like that generic, I'm just saying that Haze's concept sets it apart). Like Bioshock, the game is a moral decision.

And seriously, the graphics are amazing. Don't kid yourself. :| And I don't know what you're getting at with Resistance... Resistance was a great game. :|

And don't call it a POS. You haven't even played it. And everyone that has played it, had nothing but great things to say about it.

Hmmm i didnt know that, But it does show that either consoles or pc games can win Goty, I assume that it would be a bit harder for the Wii due to its limits in hardware but theirs always a chance, Imo Mass Effect, Bio Shock, Gta 4, Crysis and Assassins creed are the big boys this year.

As with Halo it didnt deserve goty anyways, While the atmosphere and story were great it was limited by the hardware with pc games doing what their doing thebthat consoles are onlydoing now and because of that Bungie probaly had to slim it down and remove core features they wanted, With Halo 3 it dose look good and i dont care what anybody says, It will get better and once playing it i think people will be very happy with it along with the things bungie have always wanted to do with the Halo franchise and this is why i give it a chance of being at least goty contender be it a slim one but still a chance.

Want to go stealth or tanked up rambo? do it. Want to nuke enitre base or go stealth in. Maybe you want to steal some vehicles, bound from building to building (Crackdown style), or snipe from afar? you choose.

Of course there is the awesome multiplayer power stuggle mode that is sounding killer - and the EA C&C Renegade Crysis mod. And of course there is the sandbox editor, so you can make your own missions with A.i, campaigns, scenarios or multiplayer maps.

As for UT3 - have you player UT04? Seriously.

The huge amount of gamemodes, maps, weapons, vehicles, characters, killer a.i - and the best multiplater ect. Now coupled with a proper single player campaign, spectacular visuals - and sooo much content. And of course there are LOADS of mods already in development....... Hell UT04 got 9.4 and it lacked a proper singleplayer mode. Nuff said.

Are you kidding me?, Brawl wont get nominated for Goty, It dosent even use the Wii mote, The only thing extra is online with a few more characters, Ive never played these games but when has a fighting game won goty or even been nominated, Metroid and Galaxy have a chance of being goty but its pretty slim, They will either get nominated or they wont, If gamespot have a list of five options for goty then neither will be short listed, Im not shure how many they shortlist though, Yes Crysis should be their and as for Sony exclusives i only can really see Uncharted: Drakes Fourtune be nominated with long shots of being nominated are Heavenly Sword and R&C.

I'll be shocked if at least one out of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy or Ratchet and Clank can't find its way on to the list.Gamer46

R&C won't. MP3 and SMG have every chance of making the shortlist though. The 10 games I think will make the list are,

Mass Effect, Bioshock, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Halo 3, Crysis, World in Conflict, Heavenly Sword, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Grand Theft Auto 4.

With the eventual winner being either Bioshock or Super Mario Galaxy.

UT3 won't be there, it is just sticking to the formula (though it will be a great game). Haze won't, Forza 2 won't, Lair won't, Uncharted won't.
