Um, no I'm not saying that at all. With videogames becoming as popular as they are, the demand to know what every developer is doing at all times is in demand.

The big games are there, as they are for all consoles, but everybody already knows about them. This isn't to say that some games can't come out and surprise people and some can't come out and flop.

Developers want the attention and publicity that they get from showing off their games. If there is high interest in a game, it gives the developer a reason to ask for more money to put into the game's development and also legit reasons for delaying the games release (they want to make it even better).

If they are working on the sequel to a popular franchise, they are going to let you know about it. They probably won't tell you much more, but they'll let you know that they're working on it.

ps3 has the system sellers in 2008 but they had a crappy 2007.

360 has a good 2007 and good 2008. but it won't do well in sales next year. don't care though. NINJA GAIDEN 2:D

I remember when cows listed Lair, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, etc. as games that would help PS3 sales. Guess what, it didn't. Go ahead and continue to list games that you think that will help PS3 sales. The PS3 still cost $600 and $500 big ones. And even if they release that 40 gig $400 PS3, it would still be the most expensive video gaming console in the market. There are cheaper and better choices, Xbox 360 start at $280 and the Wii $250.

while the 360 has a great 08 line up, there are no real system sellers. hell i dont even know of a game since xbox 360's launch taht will make it sell systems halo 3 included. there arent enought people out there waiting for adopting this gen now simply for halo 3.

on the other hand the ps3 has those definitive games that will move consoles like crazy. ff13 is one that will def boom for the japan crowd, it might be the first month ps3 outsells wii in japan! along with gt5 (gt is playstations highest selling franchise itll sell systems trust me, and mgs4 come on even 360 fans want this game and ive seen many on occasion saying mgs4 is the only reason theyd buy a ps3

Yeah you missed the part where I said "The 360's got nothin'" because I never said that. Don't put words in my mouth.

You are still missing the point. The PS3 has several games from established franchises which are making their next-gen debut in 08. MGS4, FFXIII, GT 5. People are waiting for those games, they are waiting to get a PS3 for those games. Nobody is waiting for Banjo 3 or the next Splinter Cell game to buy a 360.

This topic is about game selection not the price of consoles. And as of right now it looks like the PS3 will have a better lineup in 2008. Not only does it have its fair share of new IPs like White Knight Story, it has the next installments of arguably its three biggest (and conistently good/great) franchises in MGS, Final Fantasy, and Gran Turismo.

This is one of the things that comes back to bite the 360, because the xbox flopped, it established very few quality franchises from which money can be made. Sony has 10 years of MGS, FF, and GT to profit off of.

And for a game like Fable 2, where the developers are trying to make the game vastly superior to the disappointing original, the PS3 has Killzone 2, for which a playable demo exists and critics have approved of.

Thats one of the best posts ever on sw. MS has announced sequels for all of its great exclusive xbox games already. Because like you said, the xbox established very few quality titles. So ms has to rely on new franchises to succeed. Sony already has so many franchises they dont NEED to rely on new games like WKS.

In other words, MS better hope and pray their brand new games like Mass effect are superb. Because sony still has alot of great franchises like ICO/SOTC, Twisted metal, and god of war that havent had a sequel announced on the ps3(but we know there coming).

MGS has had 2 sequels since the first one on PS. FFVII has had 4 (5 if you count XI) sequels since it was released. GT has had 3 sequels. Every one of them has been at the very least, a good game, and most are somewhere between great/memorable and legendary. They are praised by the critics, enjoyed by the fans (all of them have insane fanbases) and they all sell pretty well. In other words, all three series have a proven track record.

You know what they all have in common? They all get delayed. And why? Because the developers want the games to be made right. And what happens when they release fluff like FFX-2? They get called on it.

The next MGS game is supposedly the final one. Do you honestly think that Kojima's swan song will be a failure?

Best lineup of the decade would have to go to the Xbox 360 2007 lineup. ;)
