Ok, just wondering.

I've owned the 360 since I bought it for Oblivion and since then the only games I own are Rock Band and Mass Effect. I don't have a Wii and I don't have a PS3 but I'll play my DS from time to time. I lovin' Puzzle Quest right now. So am I part of the casual market? Heck, does posting here mean that I'm not?

No. You know what games are good.

Casual gamers IMO have no sense of quality.

Really, it falls along with what games are in your library. There really is nothing wrong with being Casual or Hardcore. If you tend to prefer games like Puzzle Quest then yeah, your more of a casual gamer.

Even if you are casual, there's nothing wrong with that (don't let silly "hardcores" tell you otherwise). I think I am a casual sometimes, because my attention for games (and everything) sucks. Even though I spent most of my money on games.

Yeah, I've always wondered what sort of divider there was. I mean I don't play that many games but I think my library is not Madden this Madden that.

PS2 = Ico, Disgaea 1/2, SotC,

GC: WW, Metroid P, Ikaruga

ACtually there's an interesting one. Ikaruga, is that known as a casual game since it's just a shoot'em up that could probably be done in a flash game now?

Well, I guess the reason I started this topic is because there always seems to be so much venom when people talk about Wii sales since they're towards casual gamers and that leads to more casual games. This tends to be seen as a bad thing. Is it?

Don't ask that question here. If you enjoy your games don't concern yourself with what others might think about you.

Gamers are gamers.

This elitist classification of "hardcores" and "casuals" is just ridiculous. People have the right to hold different tastes than what others consider to be worthy of praise.

Counrty is a viable form of music, and so is hip hop. You don't have to like both, but you can't call one group "real" musicians and the other group "posers" just because they vary so much from each other.

Actually, I can. And where did you copy and paste this speech from? I swear I've read/heard somewhere before.
