I mean seriously, the performance was nice -- sure we rather have games but it's not like he didn't do his thing. It's not his fault that MS payed him to sing to a bunch of nerds and expected a community full of no rhythm jerks to get up off their unhealthy antisocial asses and dance along. Admit it, underneath all that hardcore gamer bravado -- when he came out some of you guys were sitting in your computer chairs
So truth moment SW -- can we all just give Usher his props?
TecmoGirl
Women practically throw money at Usher for his looks. Most men are jelly of him. So of course a bunch of fat nerds are gonna hate.

Stereotyping a audience while on a gaming forum?... well done mate ;)Contemporary R&B ain't my st.yle, i kind of can't stand it.. the old sh*t is rock solid tho (MJ, Whitney Houston, etc.) and appeals to me much more. I give him props for making his money, i really don't like 99% of his material tho.
So, in conclusion, f*k yo thread and Shakira giving a performance >>> Usher giving a performance.

Stereotyping a audience while on a gaming forum?... well done mate ;)I know, right? It's impractical to call random people nerds on a forum that allows trolling.
Maybe if Usher didn't represent everything wrong in music. Cliche typical MTV bubblegum pop. The lowest possible form of music challenegd only by gangster rap.
Unless your like 12 you should be ashamed of liking that trash.

You go from stereotyping to call someone a troll for pointing it out... you just get better don't you. The reason why the audience didn't care is because they had been working 24/7 and were fatigued, they also just experienced a lackluster press conference... what did you expect them to do rush the stage? They are journalists for the gaming industry. They are at work.[QUOTE="Tikeio"][QUOTE="Grey_Eyed_Elf"] Stereotyping a audience while on a gaming forum?... well done mate ;)Grey_Eyed_Elf

You more than certainly implied it and the rolling eyes don't help... It doesn't matter. I don't really care.Nothing against Usher at all, but that's not what I tune in to E3 for. If I wanted a musical number, I'd watch MTV.

Don't think music and MTV go together anymore hahaha
outside of like 3-4 songs..usher is over hyped and has been since he came out. He lipsyncs 99% of the time and his dance moves are old and played out. just not a fan.actually kind of makes me sick when I see him..same with justin beiber..
To be fair, he only lip syncs when he is dancing his ass off (like most artists do). And he is lip syncing over his own voice, so its not like he's really cheating. The dude can sing.outside of like 3-4 songs..usher is over hyped and has been since he came out. It was better than Wonderbook. the Wii U conference and Microsoft talking about glass........whatever the hell it is.

lol, well it was the best example I could think of at the time. Maybe I should have gone with American Idol? :P

[QUOTE="tomarlyn"]That was Usher? SlashlessThey all look the same to me. (Hip-Hop artists)
you were about to be ripped apart if it wasn't for that last part lol
He was ok. Way better performances by him out there, this was below average. "Scream" is an average song and him singing and dancing to that just doesn't flow as well, aka the mehh vocals from someone who can actually sing in this lol music industry.
However it probably was the only highlight of that conference besides Splinter Cell and Tomb Raider. Not interested in Dance Central 3, two Usher songs aren't gonna make go back to Kinect.

But he's not even Hip-Hop. He's R&B.
They're both terrible genres, who cares.
No, they've become terrible genres...
Anyone who dislikes Hip-hop and R&B before 2005 has a sh*t taste in music.

Protip: It was a gaming conference full of 30 year-old men (a little out of Usher's target demographic), not a concert: Hence the reason why no one was jumping out of the stage or swooning over him. Hurr durr. They very well could have enjoyed the performance while still staying professional in their seats.
on topic: The Usher performance was good, props to him. I always enjoy a bit of Usher, and he wasn't out of place since he was advertising a dance game. Though I think it would have been more suitable to have him on a commercial rather than E3.
PS: I miss his old songs like "U Remind Me" and "Burn". I wish these once awesome artists like Usher and Enrique would go back to their roots and stop making trendy club crap.
I dunno, I enjoyed Flo Rida's performance and insanely massive hand ring more than I enjoyed Usher's performance during E3.

Well E3 these days is alot like MTV -- A mainstream/corporate circlejerk that consists of shallowness marketed to the lowest common denominator ....so it's not like the Usher performance stood out or anything.

HAHAHA best spoiler everIn my mind I was thinking, why not Bieber? Then I remembered that all the people at the conference would have thrown their cell phones at him and leave the conference. LOL
[QUOTE="Grey_Eyed_Elf"][QUOTE="ultraking"]Usher is still relevant?ultrakingDoes him being at a gaming conference answer anything...means his music isn't selling? And no one cares about him anymore? Selling =/= Relevent Led Zeppelin and The Beatles are selling to this day... Fame is harsh.

It says he's a soulless shill puppet for corporations and Major Labels.
Most Bands/Artists with any kind of self respect or artistic integrity tend to play at places like SXSW or Bonaroo instead of a fvcking gaming convention.
