Am i the only one who dosent like Halo games?

So lol i was wondering, why is it that the Halo games are just very popluar and a lot of people like it/buy it? whats so diffrent about it than other games? what dose it have that other games dosent? im just very curious to know this and the reason im asking this here because i know most of the poeple here have played this game maybe not everyone but yeah.. i dont have an xbox tho but still i did play Halo3 a couple of times, last time i played it was 2 weeks ago in Ebgames store :P for like 3 to 4 minutes but didnt think it was that great, so far the best FPS game for me would be the Call of Duty 4 which was the first call of duty game for me to play.i still rememebr how i played it for a couple of minutes and gave me a great first impression and thats how i got into FPS games as i used to hate them before :P.. anwyays yeah i just want are evryones opionos on this game and whats the reason u like it? and will i like it if i play it more?

im with you on this one but i can imagine this turning into an onslaught of halo fanboys =)

im a lemming and ill admit it now. halo 1 was one of the best games ever but 2 and 3 are garbage.

To put it simply, no you're not alone. There are others who don't like Halo too, but I am not part of those people, I find Halo awesome. I'll agree with you on COD4 though, that's my favourite FPS as well.

Because it is a great game and has a very different feel to it than normal FPS these days. The best way I can explain it is that it feels more "free". The community is large, bungie supports it all the time, custom matches, forge(to make your own maps), theater(to analyze your gameplay for the the hardcore, or just capture a funny moment), to gameplay is just rock-solid, I don't know what(else) to tell you.

I recently got back into it, started playing lone wolves again, it's still one of the best online games I've ever played. And the private matches are so fun on Halo because you can edit the maps and the rules of the games, it turns it into seperate games it's too good, Bungie did really well with Halo 3 multiplayer.

I told myself I would play and beat Halo 3...played about 30 minutes before I said screw it, I seriously hate the style of that game.

Halo was good, 2 and 3 are WAYYY overrated.

Yeah seriuosly CoD4 is just an amzing game, you have no idea how much i used to hate FPS games as i used to buy only RPG games for ps1 and ps2 but after i;v been told to try CoD4 by my friends TONS and TONS of times eevry single day i tried it and was surprised that it sure was a solid game :)

Halo 1 for life. Halo 3 is pretty trashy. But I do admit... when I do play Halo 1... I'd rather play Halo 3. So in a way... I feel like Halo 1, 2, and 3 were all the same game. That can be good or bad. Good because it shows how groundbreakin Halo 1 really was... but bad because Halo3 on a next gen system feels the same as Halo 1 on an older generation system.

I can't stand halo games ... played halo 1 and 2 on my pc , played halo 3 at friends house, they all suck compared to other first person shooters... Halo is popular for 2 reasons. It was pretty much all the xbox had when it launched for fps and was new to the console so everyone who had that console bought it. 2nd reason.... m$ advertising, it's no secret that ms is loaded with cash... they basically matched or topped the cost to produce the game and put that in marketing , moutain dew bottles, burger king, movie theatres, you name it. And you know kids cling on to " Shiny green men with gold visors" advertised on their favoirte products. Most got it because of hype and trend. Their friends were playing it, and hell even the kids parents knew about halo .... the game wasn't good, it's just that M$ used their wallet to influence the market.Midnightshade29

There will be many other people who don't like the Halo games no doubt but imo you/they have either pretty bad taste when it comes to certain games or just haven't played certain games long enough to even know what they are really like and how good they are.

ok so u kno the reason i got halo was due to the hype and the fact that it was new and it was my bros birthday gift lol at first i loved it when i started playing campaign graphics were amazing and it was the first major FPS i got into, sharing it with some cool friends and playing online with them rocked 4 summer of 08 i guess...After playing CoD ive never went back 2 halo except maybe 4 a little bit 2 see if i still sucked as bad as i used 2 and im kinda better at it but that has 2 be because of the practice in CoD and well as far as i know most of my friends like CoD better than Halo and the ones who do play Halo also own CoD as well and begged me 2 get CoD 4...Im goin with u Finalstar, Halo's outdated CoD's more fun and i even have a better time on Gears of War and Bad Company online then i do on Halo nowa days tho my brothers looking into getting ODST i think its a total waste and as far as Halo Wars goes that game was Bungee's FAIL the worst Halo ive ever seen!!!

Major Differences:

-Master Cheif HYPE

-Maps that are more fantasy looking (halo is like a war between planets in a sense)

-Some cool weapons (that laser gun in Nazi Zombies is still better tho)

-Glitchers (LOTS OF THEM!!!!)

-No fast-paced running like in CoD u can walk at a moderate pace and Jump and beating people down sucks alot of the time...

-People take longer to kill

uve played it 4 a bit u kno the differences, nothing great seriously...

aim assist sucks cant turn it off and halo 3's multiplayer maps suck ass boring as hell weapons suck pretty much also
