Am i the only one who dosent like Halo games?

I played and finished it just to see what makes it a very popular game and didn't understand why so many people just love it. Like: aliens talk? and with a silly voice.DarkFadi

I can't stand halo games ... played halo 1 and 2 on my pc , played halo 3 at friends house, they all suck compared to other first person shooters... Halo is popular for 2 reasons. It was pretty much all the xbox had when it launched for fps and was new to the console so everyone who had that console bought it. 2nd reason.... m$ advertising, it's no secret that ms is loaded with cash... they basically matched or topped the cost to produce the game and put that in marketing , moutain dew bottles, burger king, movie theatres, you name it. And you know kids cling on to " Shiny green men with gold visors" advertised on their favoirte products. Most got it because of hype and trend. Their friends were playing it, and hell even the kids parents knew about halo .... the game wasn't good, it's just that M$ used their wallet to influence the market.Midnightshade29

I'd wager there may be even more people that hate Halo then like it here in System Wars.

Everyone hates the big dog, but Halo may just have the most vocal haters. You can't go a day without a new Halo sucks thread around here.

I like Halo. The controls are perfect for a console game. I've been playing the campaign since launch on Xbox 1. The multiplayer is unmatched in terms of customizing your experience, as well as the amount of people playing at any given time. In terms of console shooters anyway. I also much prefer sci-fi over the top compared to pseudo realistic settings like COD, or Battlefield.

I mean, I don't get how people can hate Halo, but like COD, or Killzone. I have played and beat, and at least on some level enjoyed them all. None of them are terrible games. The difference in quality between the top tier of shooters is pretty small today.

I think a large amount of hate comes from the art style and story.

Another small chunk from people who just like to hate popular things.

The next large chunk are fanboys of another system or game.

Then you have the people who don't like it for more legitimate reasons like pacing, level design choices etc.

To call any game like Halo, KZ2, COD4, GTA4, MGS4 "garbage" though reeks of extreme bias, and maybe even mental inaptness.

Personal preference is fine and dandy. But if you honestly cannot/refuse to see that any of those games are extremely well made and polished above and beyond your average title then your opinion holds no relevance and is indeed "garbage". It should also be treated as such and disposed of during real conversations pertaining to said games.

personally i thought all of the halo campaigns were pretty damn boring. half life is a much better scifi fps

cod4 is still my favourite though.

I love Halo. Plus, it set the standard for all console FPS.

But still, and really, let's face it, if it wasn't exclusive to Xbox, almost all of the haters would shut up. :P

Halo was pretty amazing for people who hadn't played online pc games like quake 3 or counterstrike.

I hated it, especially on single-player. The aliens are so corny and annoying.

Halo 3 is ok online but I still find the characters to be a bit drab. For multiplayer shooters on 360 I prefer BF:Bad Company and Army of two.

But yea I think Halo games are overrated. The only halo game I really can't stand is halo wars. RTS + controller = lame. Strategy games on consoles should be turn based. However Halo wars sold pretty well and so will ODST. Slap Halo on any game and it will sell like crazy.

Halo is amazing and excellently made.

Better than Killzone 2, CS, CoD or any other FPS rival at this moment.

EDIT: Oh, I remember now - though i said this about Halo, I do love the first game - it's something that i still go back on and play with friends (on PC). Though not recently, because of exams and all, it's something we talk about doing again.

I dont think its a bad and i dont hate it, i just dont think its as popular as ms hypnotists have conviced the masses it is. I think there are faaaaar better games that deserve the kind of attention it gets.

Halo is a good series. I used to hate it blindly until I actually stopped judging the game on its popularity like most haters do here. It isn't amazing but it certainly doesn't deserve the hate it gets. Ironically, people love to state how people overhype Halo yet there is no threads praising Halo, only ones bashing it, and the hype behind ODST has been well hyped but tamed unlike other upcoming games.
