I don't hold my tongue in real life and won't hold it here either. Hate it or love it...or ignore it.
Mmmmm, I don't know.
What I do know is that tablets, smartphones, and PC have put some huge pressure on the console industry in the last few years. The North American console market has seen declining revenues since 2008.
Nintendo has the benefit of having a true, hardcore audience that'll flock to any of their products for their specific selection of games, and I don't think Sony or Microsoft have that luxury.
It really just depends. It's hard to tell. I do think Microsoft is making the right moves by trying to truly solidify their place as a multimedia box. I think multimedia has been a huge reason the PS3 and 360 sold as well as they did given the statistics that have shown multimedia overtaking gaming as the #1 reason people use their consoles. Of course coming into a new generation Sony and MS will have to try and sell new products to an audience that other companies (like Apple) are already taking a hold of.
[QUOTE="Kaze_no_Mirai"]Nowhere near the success of Wii but much better than GameCube overall.Heil68I would agree with this. Those people who never bought a console before the Wii, wont buy the WiiU, or a majority of them, in my opinion.
what about the ps4? will it reach 100million this time?
did the n64 win with super smash? did the gamecube win with super smash melee? No, Nintendo won last gen because the casual market flocked to the system because it was cheap and different. Now, they aren't flocking to the Wii-U because its pretty expensive and it doesn't have that same motion control aspect that the Wii had. Nintendo aren't going to do bad but they aren't going to pull Wii numbers.
if you want a very weak "next gen" console with laughable 3rd party support and the same ol nintendo 1st party games we've seen for twenty yearsÂ
then the WiiU will be a win for youÂ
Woot woot somebody saying somebody won last gen.:PThey won last gen but nobody cared, so what dif does it make?

There is a point where if they put off putting out nothing for a slightly longer period of time more, they will loss chance to build back up hype.
If they can get Smash Bros, Zelda, 3d Super Mario, Mario Kart and a price cut I think they can turn things around. They don't have much time though. I think retailers will give up on the console if a year from now they can't get things moving.
Â
I think Nintendo have a very real chance of beating Microsoft. Xbox will be reduced to its bottom tier. The mindless dudebros and bitter, basement dwellers. Anyone with half a brain will jump ship.Â
Â
There are so many factors that can determine if the WiiU wins this gen or not, like the situation at the end of the year for the console. If ninty publishes a lot of high quality games by the end of the year, improves their marketing and etc the console can easily take second place maybe first at the end of this gen. The other two consoles are not guranteed to fly off the shelves when they release because of factors like the economy which factors into consumer demand(Not forum demand) and etc.The worst they will do is sell slightly more than the WiiU is selling now or completely crushing the WiiU(I don't know if this is going ot happen yet because barely nothing about those consoles have been released.
[QUOTE="AD216"][QUOTE="TheWalkingGhost"] If I did that, then I would miss my nephews birthday. It going to be hard for any normal console to hit 100 million this gen. Unless there some good gimick to push people away from their Phones and Ipads.I don't know if nintendo will win this gen, I do know that they won't always win, and I do know they never lose.

[QUOTE="Shielder7"][QUOTE="charizard1605"]Which is why we should have stuck to PS2 era graphics. Perfection, I tell you.charizard1605I was referring to just the controller, don't be stupid. I was just referring to the graphics, don't be stupid. "Yeah, having the same controller for fifteen years is the worst stagnation ever." Nothing in there about graphics.
There is no medal given, so there really is no winner or loser, there is just business.bbkkristian
Winners are actually the ones in last place because that company is the one trying the hardest to make it. In this case was Sony that constantly released different variety of games.. while Wii nintendo's console the winner didn't give a single damn.
You mos definitely are. The WiiU is/will fail. And dont think the 1st party alone will save it. It didnt save the Gamecube or the N64, why do you think it'll save the WiiU? The Wii was a fad. Nintendo was lucky by apealing to casuals. Casuals however are clients, not fans. They wont follow Nintendo from now on
