The problem with C3 is it always looked like a cheap ass indie game but MS were hyping it up to be AAA. All these delays suggest frantic turd polishing which never ends well.

@blueinheaven: Hence why a part if me thinks they should just cancel it. Yes it'll be disappointing to lose another game, but I'd rather they cut their losses and allocate the resources elsewhere, if the game is going to be another mediocre release.

Hopefully the extra time means a better game. But I'm skeptical.

Well, the last thing they need after the mediocre reception both SoT and State of Decay 2 got is another major release that looks like ass and comes in on MC at 60-70.

They should give this thing away on Games with Gold and talk up whatever their next big thing is at E3. Hopefully either Halo 6 or Gears 5 late this year, I'd be happy with either.

Even if Days Gone flops Sony still has basically guaranteed hits like Spidey, TLOU 2, GoT and DS to fall back on. CD3 is all MS has left.

Where is Deep Down again? Still got people waiting on Shenmue III, Final Fantasy VII, and I'm sure people remember The Last Guardian...lol. Even Sony themselves have stated they announce games too early...lol.

@dagubot: None of those are Sony first party games ?. TLG was a lastgen game and is already out. Crackhead 3 will probably get cancelled like the other MS vaporware games at the rate it’s going.

Only 10 days to find out for sure. I was anticipating the game because i had fun playing the first one. I thought of climbing buildings twice the size of the first one to be great and the sheer amount of destroying a whole city got me excited for it.

@2Chalupas: Yeah it's odd. The game was playable last E3. Of course it doesn't mean it was complete then. But the mechanics and core were there. I'm guessing the game has been complete, just a disappointment. Maybe release it at $30 this year and take the loss... It's not like MS first party has a great name to hold up to anymore.

Sad day in MS land when even Lems would prefer a game to be canceled rather than earn another 50-60 meta score.

Deep down is a capcom game,Shenmue is a sega game,and FF7 is a square enix game,non of those games are from sony,unlike Crackdown which is a MS IP.

This Gen Sony has been way faster than MS delivering games from time of announcement to release.

I don't think retailer would stop taking pre-orders unless it is to send a message, possibly they're showing frustration over the idea of Game Pass undermining their place in the gaming market, same way retailers were not too happy with idea of PSP Go and downsized their PSP displays areas in stores to a tiny hidden corner. I mean, unless they caught wind of some big info about a greater delay, or development starting from scratch, I can't think of a better reason.

What I find real funny about all of this is that anyone who has been a gamer for any amount of time knows that setbacks happen. This entire concept of games being "on time" has only ever been a thing when duke nukem forever went off the rails. Xbox fans have been making ease of development and development timelines a sticking point since around the beginning of the 360 gen... and it is proving to be pretty cancerous.

Sony has started holding their cards closer since The last guardian became a debacle for Xbox fans to parade around while Xbox one games have been absolute post children of how keeping a timeline is the most wrong way to view game development or frame an argument around.

But here we are. Mcc launched like straight ass. Countless other games came out the same way. Scores for first party have been mostly plummeting. Now, they finally do the right thing and hit the brakes, but the thread is a c.f. one lem even wishes for a cancellation. Goddamn this would be side splitting if it wasn't also rather sad, and dragging us all down with it.

This isn't about it being cancelled, this is about it being possibly delayed, since it's looking very likely it'll miss the spring release window. It's in the title and OP if you actually read it.

When a game needs extra time it's one thing, when a game needs too much time it sounds like things aren't going so well.
