Americas preorder chart....kinect aint floppin

Overview – Halo: Reach (X360) continues to outshine every other game, Call of Duty: Black Ops passes a combined 600,000 pre-orders and Kinect Adventures! jumps up the chart with a big increase in pre-orders.

To note: Reach has 1.255k preorders. Fable 3 is out pacing GT5, Fable 3: 155k GT5: 150k

And kinect adventures has 91k preorders which comes bundle with kinect so that gives you a sense of what kinect will sale. Many more interesting preorder numbers in the link

I'm surprised in general at how many people are buying kinect at launch. I'm impressed that MS are managing to sell it at its unusually high price point. I mean £130, the Wii was £180 at launch.

Amazon pre-order sales are at least accurate for Amazon, although they don't necessarily represent anything more than that. It doesn't look likely that either Kinect or Move will bomb at launch (most major devices don't bomb at launch anyway).

Isn't the 360 pretty big in the US ? Let's wait for some other regions before jumping to conclusions.

For the sake of real games I hope it crashes and burns.. Don't give devs the impression that shovelware is where the money is at (even if it is).

I've been saying it would sell so I'm not surprised and good to see Fable 3 getting some attention. I'm betting Kinectimals will sell through a million by years end. :o

I think there were a few 360 owners who kind of wanted a wii and see this as the next best thing. Can't imagine it being any good though.

and 90k preorder is not very good for a platform

heck even 1 million sold this winter would not establish it as a platform.

think about it even the wii balance board that already sold over 30 million worldwide only got 100 games or so.

wii motion plus which sold at least 20 million plus worldwide got less then 20 games so far

Regardless of whether these numbers are accurate or not, count me out. If I want motion sensing, I'll get a Wii.

Of course it's gonna sell in America well. Look at how many people bought a faulty 360. Just shows you that Americans never use their brains, just their wallets.

Well you made a generilization but on the other hand yes i do agree most people over there don't seem to think about what they are buying. At least Europeans and Asian people care if their hardware is reliable or not.

Lay off VGChartz already. Nobody else does what they do, so unless you have more reliable numbers just don't comment at all :roll:

Like America's pre-orders matter. Its the only region where x360 has outsold PS3, and has a market dominated by mindless FPS'. GT5 will dominate Europe by far, and will outsell anything on x360 by 10 times in Japan. Not speculation, just fact. Fifa 11 will still outsell everything else in Europe tho.

north america equals the world now? i guarantee kinect isn't going to sell much overseas in places like japan, "theres no room for it" and yeah people are going to buy it then its going to be forgotten and known as a failure, but we shall see

I get what you are saying though. If MS markets this right they can get a lot of parents to buy this.

Lots of suckers also bought the HD DVD add on. These numbers mean nada to me. Bread_or_Decide

What I always think is:

Kinect = PS Move = HD DVD drive = Sega CD = Sega 32X

There are more examples but what I'm getting at is that these hardware enhancing peripherals that are released later in the life of a console always fail.

VGChartz may not be the most reliable source in the world but it does give a good overall trend of things going on. So its safe to say that Kinect preorders are doing pretty well at this point.destroyerHHH
