Hopefully if things pan out you're screwed then :P
Amnesia is just unnerving. I feel the same kind of 'uneasiness' as I do with MGS. I think many PS2 games were scarier.Lol @ the people with the usual "I didnt find X scary".
Scary does not mean you have to be sitting there with your heart racing and nearly crapping your pants.
Saying Amnesia is not a creepy series of games is like saying you didnt find The Shining or The Ring scary. Mabey your just boring and taking things a little too serious?

Not afraid of Amnesia? then you're just a boring person... :lol:Lol @ the people with the usual "I didnt find X scary".

I personally can´t think of a single one and I´ve played most of the PS2 so called "horror games",none came close to any of the games made by Frictional(Penumbra or Amnesia).Lol @ the people with the usual "I didnt find X scary".

are they actually calling the game a machine for pigs?lightleggy
Yeah they are because it leaves a lot of questions and is supposed to be elaborated on in the game. I think the name is cool. At first it sounded stupid but now sounds kind of unsettling
I expect this to be alot more violent than amnesia.
probably will involve slaughter house type areas.
Imma take a guess, based on that quoute they said about "the world being fit only for pigs, only the slaughtering of pigs" and say that its actually a machine for humans - maybe criminals? - that does some diabolical ****.
I think its a brilliant name, suggestive but very open to interpretation.

That's what I was thinking too. It would work well in the game because the first Amnesia had you doing bad things to people too and lots of guys got cut up and dissected for different things. I imagine the visual of guys hanging on meat hooks.
But yeah the name is great, at first sounds kinda silly but once you think about it with that quote then it's pretty cool
Just play on the toilet. (setting up your rig that way will be worth it for this game)Time to stock up underwear.

Perhaps this game will involve some sort of weapons, a machine for pigs could also mean this involves a war.
damn this is exciting.
[QUOTE="dracolich55"][QUOTE="freedomfreak"]Wut? ATDD is one of the scariest games this gen, but why is everyone like "ima sh** in mai pants" or "time to stack up on energy drinks" I really didn't find it THAT scary... Maybe its because i played it in the light? playing amnesia with lights on is the wrong way Turn off lights , put the volume up and immerse your self .Time to stock up underwear.
adamosmaki
Honestly, i find that answer kind of...lame, sorry, but if i play any good horror game and immerse myself on it, chances are that i'm going to get scared, just like if i play any good horror game with the least proper settings chances are i'm not going to get scared by the game.

Well its like watching a good story driven movie, are you going to play on a console while talking to someone while doing something else, or are you going to stay silent and watch the dam movie to find out whats happening, your immersing yourself. How is playing a horror game in daylight with a abunch of friends fun ? Most SP story driven games I play alone because im enjoying the world im being put into, if your not trying to immerse yourself in the world then you dont clearly like it and should play something else.
So their only defence against the negative claims is "we have a horrible subtitle". Not a good way to instill faith...
Hope they add guns to this. Amnesia was good and all but it would have been much more fun with a .44 and a flashlight
BPoole96
It needed more helicopters and space marines as well.

Strange seems good to me..A machine for pigs, if you played the first you would have a understanding of what the subtitle *could* mean.

I wasn't suggesting it was a bad subtitle. I meant horrible as in "disturbing" or "gruesome" as some people are referring to it.

and wub wub, and a cover system, and a medal system, and bloom, and... Oh god there are actually negative stereotypes in videogames now. :PI LOVE the subtitle, pig squeals are creepy as hell, heck any sort of livestock mewling is creepy (Cows, Sheep etc). The ''Machine'' could be/do anything; Does it slaughter? Does it transform? Does it contort? What happens when the pig survives or escapes the machine, or when the machine is done with the pig? What if a human is caught in the machine? Humans being put on the same level as livestock is one of the greatest horrors we have (see: the holocaust, Silence of the lambs). It's also kind of reminds me of the Civil Protection motto in Half Life ''They're here for you'', it carries a sinister double meaning.Coyful
Agreed I think it will be about the mistreatment of humans, that they are considering nothing more then lifestock, since the first was pretty heavy on torture and all that. Hope this one is way more gruesome and scary.
