Yo everybody,I come from Croatia, and I wanted to give you an insight on the gaming prices here, and also ask about the prices in your countries. This can reffer to any console, but I'm focusing on the Sony Brand because it's the most famous around here.Just to mention, Im going to give the prices in dollars, one dollar is around 5 and a half kuna's(the currency here). So,let's start. I own a PS2 and a PSP. The PSP i bought when it came out for abou 400 dollars which I found solid. The PS2 I bought 3 years after it came out because of the price,it cost 950 dollars, and that's,at least I think, a large fee.Luckyly, the price came down a lot.The prices of the gamesare ridiculous,apsurd... One day,I was going thrugh Gamespot and came across the psp games section, and clicked on the MGA( Metal Gear Ac!d). The price for the game was 55 dollars. I bought the game for a whooping 95 or to round it 100 dollars. In my currency 520 kunas. My friend went on a trip to NY and bought GTA:VCS for the PSP for 25 bucks, and here the game costs about 90 dollars. The PS2 prices are not so different, the games prices go from about 75 to a 100 dollars. It's the same with the PS3 games, but the console,it's a different story. The price here is 4777 kunas or something about 900dollars. I don't own a PS3,and probably won't any time soon and the situation is mostly the same with other people. The HD tv's are tricky, the good ones cost about 2.5 k $,and there are ok tv's for the same price of the PS3. The Wii is the cheapest console here, and that's why it found it's audience,it costs about 400 $,and the X360 costs about 700-800 dollars depending on the content of the package. So my question to you is how are the prices in your country and are you satisfied?

This discussion is open to everybody, and I would like to hear the opinion of US citizens on the prices:)

I am in th US, so what you saw on GameStop is what I'd end up paying ($60 for most new 360/PS3 games, $50 for most new Wii games, etc)

I am fine with game prices, as they were $50 here for decades, and the extra $10 is not that steep IMO for what they are giving us.

Really, the only things having to do with price that worries me is the hardware going upwards from $400, as this is the first generation that two major players in the hardware department chose to start their systems off higher than $300, and I worry that if this trend continues into next gen, gaming will price itself outside my reach...

Australia's prices are disappointing, although I can see why.

$100 is the RRP for most games coming here, sometimes raised up to $120 for third - party games. (Keep in mind that that Australian Dollar is worth nearly 90 American cents)

Xbox 360 Premium costs $579, and the 40GB PS3 costs $700. I personally can't see why the import costs would be this much, but ok. Same goes with hardware. Everything in America is exponentially raised in price when exported to Australia, with a few small exceptions.

(All Prices in Australian Dollar)

I agree that th current price is pretty good. Could I accept cheaper? Oh, yes.

But there have been many, including Michael Pachter, that have said that what we are getting for $10 more is worth far more than that $10 increase from last gen to this one. I could be waaaaay worse.

like I said,it's really not ok that only people with a lot of money can play on the ng of consoles(at least it's like here). I mean, the kids that buy a PS3 don't know what they have. They massively buy Harry Potter and other similar comercialized games, and don't care that they have the console for which MGS4 is coming out... I really dare to say that they don't deserve it.

I remember back in the NES or SNES/Genesis days when a $60 game was the cheap price.
