The install bases may eventually end up equal in the US and maybe the UK for both consoles but not worldwide.

Last gen, 360 had a one year head-start and price huge price advantage with the 2005 DVD 360 vs. the 2006 Blu-Ray PS3.

This gen they are on very close footing with regards to price and release date (they released a week apart in Nov 2013).

"Console exclusives" don't technically count (LBP3, GT6 etc.), but if you include those it has more exclusives. Without those, it has less.

The "no games" statement is bs on both the PS4 and the Xbone. They sell because they have games.

I dont think X1 will overtake the lead in sales for NA by the end of 2015, what I see happening is X1 outselling the PS4 for the holiday 2015. I see M$ doing the same as they did this year, having lots of bundled free games with a reduced priced X1 and HALO 5 hype train.

What makes you think Xbox One is at 13 million sold? The last announcement was they would soon hit 10 million shipped and that was mid November so would cover the majority of their holiday shipments too (it takes a while to transport stuff from china to other places you see), even if they still had 1 million units to ship before year end that would put their shipped figure between 10.5 and 11 million as of now so chances are sold is going to be around the 9 - 10 million mark.

On 12th of November they said they would reach 10 million consoles shipped 'soon'. That shipped figure will include all the units that got sold in November and probably some that were sold in early December as a portion of that number is made up of units that are in transit to stores and another portion is made up of stock on store shelves that has not been sold to consumers yet.

On 3rd of December they had a shareholders meeting and stated they had reached 10 million consoles shipped which means that as of December 3rd the most they could have sold is ~ 10 million, although that would in reality be impossible as again, that number would include units in transit and units on store shelves.

Given those pieces of information it means that units sold to consumers as of December 3rd is defiantly less than 10 million. Exactly how much less depends on how much stock is still on shelves and how much is in transit, considering it is December and they would likely want to keep stock flowing into stores before the 25th so there could easily be between 2 and 3 million units in stock and in transit world wide. That would put sold through at between 7 and 8 million, for them to reach 10 million units sold by now they would have had to sell anywhere between 1.3 and 1.95 million in the USA in December. I can see the lower end figure being possible but the top end figure seems a bit of a stretch.

There is absolutely no chance they are anywhere close to the 13 million mark, I doubt they are above 11 and it is entirely possible they have not cracked 10 yet.

Seriously while its a possibility since both consoles seem to be picking up in terms of games libraries, I don't think it would happen this year, unless we're just taking only NA market into consideration.. Worldwide sales for PS4 are doing fine and its line-up for 2015 is way better compared to 2014..

They probably sold around 2-3mil in usa and 1mil in Europe (november + december), so they can easily be around 13mil

Bruh the Xbone is D-E-A-D in Europe. I'm gonna say 2.3 million in NA and 300-400k in UK. Negligible numbers everywhere else. Sub-10 million shipped in November so I'm gonna go with 11 million.

We'll know in a few weeks when they release the quarterlies and we can extrapolate some numbers
