Lore of the game not in the game sure sounds like Bungie.
I mean Halo was notorious for that. Unless you bought The Special Edition of Halo Reach you probably wouldn't have known that only Jorge was a 'Real' Spartan.

Reach was pretty bad about it but the original trilogy was full of secret lore and hidden logs you could run around and find, and the main story itself was, for the most part, pretty good. At some point they were better about it.
I assume after the trilogy was over they just stopped giving a shit.

At least in Halo, you got the jist of what was going on in the Story. A lot of the small details aren't explained, but the major points are explained. I have absolutely no idea what happened in Destiny, and I really don't care enough to visit a website to find out.

Except Halo was preety straightforward for the basics of the lore, it was established very well who you are, why are you there, who are the bad guys and why are you fighting, i'm not a big fan of the series, but even i got a good hang of the basic lore with halo 1
I remember him slamming Elder Scrolls Online, and now that thing is cutting devs and whatnot. Angry Joe has been pretty spot-on with MMOs in the past, and tend to accurately portray the general consensus of the player population a few months from launch. At the end of the day, MMOs with weak launch content all ended up dead or are dying.
Before someone say that Destiny is not a MMO, I'd like to point out that its "10-year plan" and business strategies are identical to a MMO's development plan. The gameplay may be different, but the core strategies that make or break the game are the same.

Most of what I know about the Halo universe comes from reading the novels and wikia. I barely learned anything from the games. Which is a shame, because the lore in Halo is amazing. Fall of Reach is pretty much the best video-game related novel ever written.
That said, I'm looking forward to this review.

He gave Guild Wars 2 a 10. He said himself that he's new to the genre.
This review will be great.
Cant wait. His reviews are great, 100x better than the traditional style reviews (Gamespot)

Right, but it's not an MMO.
wtf is up with bungie....
Im not going to read up on lore, put it in the damn game!!!
they were never really good at telling a decent story. For the halo series it always appeared they were more interested in just getting back into the action and were afraid of boring the fanbase with drama. They had one final shot to put out a decent storyline with halo reach and they completely ruined it by giving us a squad we knew NOTHING about. We all knew how the game was going to end..fine..but atleast make us NOT want to see these characters die

Looks like bungie leaving halo is the best thing for the franchise....after seeing what they've done with Destiny's story.
So they have a 10 year plan of selling expansions? but if nobody likes that game all that much are they going to bother?
Destiny will win with marketing alone.

Yep, novels > games

but theres no sci fi michael bay... and a hot naked a.i telling you how much she loves you.... and massive ships exploding.... and....
well anything other than a tired little a.i concept telling you where to in caves over and over again.

I dont see how you come to this conclusion that people don't like the game... I think people take critics far too seriously... when in reality story elements do not make a game last, the gameplay does... and people like it. regardless of how repetitive the missions are.
League of Legends score a 6 here originally... and is one of the biggest games on the planet... by a landslide..... I imagine Destiny will get a re-review eventually.
Vault of Glass is a good step foward for the FPS genre in terms of difficult co-op content... but alas arm chair critics and casual gamers whine because of story.... idiots.
if nobody likes it why is it still selling so much? why is its apps top of app stores? why is it still incredibly highly viewied on twitch? why? because despite its reptitiveness its a step foward for the FPS genre as a whole and funnily enough people like it regardless.
I don't expect the story loves to like the GAME. GAME.... VIDEO GAME.
I really don't like this dude.
Why do game reviewers on Youtube always have to be ANGRY *insert name*, FRUSTRATED insert name* or MAD *insert name*? It's getting old.
To be honest, I have enjoyed destiny a lot. I really attempt to avoid hype and just let me judge the game when I play it. I feel the hype Bungie projected and people believing their hype is shadowing the game. Personally I would give this game a 8/10, maybe a 7 because of the low level cap. But this game does give me excitement for a next gen borderlands :D

Destiny IS a great game. And you're right, people just expected the game to be something else and are now bitter that whatever they made up in their mind is not what the final product is.
I, too, enjoy this game a great deal. It's a lot of fun, even more so with friends or on a group of strangers. The Crucible is also awesome.
Ah, can't wait till work is over to play some more. :)
Nice, gotta love an honest Angry Joe review. I trust the guy because he's not some fucking corporate bullshitter. This game is nothing special, a ton of you got suckered by the corporate lie-factory, I'm sure.
I was talking to my brother who is playing Destiny. He kept saying "but its so much fun with friends." I had to remind him almost ANYTHING bad is more fun with friends. Bad movies. Bad games. Bad concerts. That really isn't a shining endorsement of the game. Pop in some Halo 3 co-op and you'll have just as much fun playing with friends. Heck or Borderlands 2 to be more destiny like.
Gamers have this thing where they assimilate themselves into a game and want to so badly have fun they will just put up with anything. Like when LAIR released with broken motion controls and so many gamers claimed they mastered the controls. BUT IF YOU JUST...BUT IF YOU JUST....yeah no thanks.
The game should be good whether I play it alone or with friends. Heck, isn't WOW still great even if you play alone?
Man the lore is the least of that game's problems.
The dull ass gameplay is way worse.
Halo didn't need to be complicated. You were master chief, cortana was a likeable side kick, and your mission was clear.
DESTINY doesn't even have a story THAT straight forward to get behind. You are...insert blank boring hero in armor....your side kick is a robot with no personality...and your mission is...shoot everything that's not you...just because...um darkness..yeah the darkness. DARK STUFF is bad. Kill it. Kill it now with bullets.
He's one of the worst reviewers out there, thou i laugh on his videos, i wish he didnt scream that hard (or at least stabilase your voice on editing ffs)

It's mostly because gamers seem like such an angry group as a whole. So its part parody and part holding up a mirror to your fan base. To be fair it's just a name, joe does plenty of non angry reviews as well. When he loves a game it's pretty awesome.

Man I can get over all that
If my options are
A: shitty video game story
vs
B: non existent one
I'm looking at that as a tie, not exactly a win-win for me.

Oh my god.
So uh, a "business strategy" and the not the actual game itself makes it an MMO?
Did you shove your head that far up your ass?
