Hate the sims, but I'm going to go with that. Animal Crossing is harvest moon without the farming or "dating".

I found Animal Crossing on the gamecube charming for a while, the fact that it was a repeat of an old game that has been released again since with the same poor graphics and style does detract from the franchise. But I at least enjoyed it. I never found the attraction of the sims. Sim City 2000 was overrated but at least it had depth. Sim Tower was a great distraction. If anything my favourite of the series.

The Sims is just a cash cow, the worst in the series since Sim Island.

Toss up for me, both are pretty great games, but I'll ask my GF what she thinks....Oh wait, NVM I can't because she's locked in her room playing Animal Crossing, AC simplistic gameplay really caters towards the "Non gamer" not to say it isn't fun for a person who plays games regularly, but judging by my GFs reaction to AC it really does appeal to the non gamer. The Sims does also I imagine, I feel that sometimes though it can get a little bit too complicated for a non gamer, but both are quality games.

If I had to go with a form of virtual life, I'd go with Animal crossing. There's just so much more interaction. While the Sims is closer to real life, AC is the better life.

I really like building houses in The Sims, but when I try the actual game part I grow bored in a matter of minutes. So all I've really been doing in Sims 3 since I got it recently is building and furnishing houses. Animal Crossing is actually fun to play as intended, so it wins out here.
