All systems are worth owning today as all are relatively cheap and have enough system exclusives to their own.

Of course, but I would add the caveat that if you already have a Wii, a PS3, and a PC, the added exclusives from a 360 are less compelling given that you already get access to most of the multiplats anyway, and with so many games coming out every month, you won't really have time to play all the systems. The price point of the Wii wasn't a strong argument for owning it. I was focusing on the exclusivity. It matters.

AA just isn't good enough for me.

Where are all the AAA games, and since when did standards drop so low that we are excited about AA scores all of a sudden?

I'm pretty sure back in the days of the NES, SNES, N64 etc that an AA score would have been mostly overlooked and that most people were really only excited by games scoring AAA.

I mean seriously...We're supposed to get excited about an 8.0!

WTF!

Now, maybe I am an elitist ass but at least I have standards.

amaneuvering

I've never been one to side with the sheep(or any fanboy group for that matter)

But when the hell did AA become bad? When was good not good all of a sudden? If people didn't try AA games we wouldn't have a System Shock 2, or a Deus Ex, or a Majoras Mask.

Let's bring that to current ratings Heavy Rain, Tatsanoko vs Capcom, Viva Pinata(appreciete this series SW), The Darknesse etc. AAA maybe the highest of honors for games, but AA is nothing to scoff at. A bulk of the best games on any systems library will fall under AA. The truly elite titles make up a small margin of the library.

Second scores can not really compare genre to genre. You can't compare a AAA FPS like Killzone 2 to a AA strategy RPG like Valkyria Chronicles. Different genre, different rule set, different mechanics, different ways to entertain their audience.

If anything your standards are questionable, because while you maye "forget the AA" games as not good enough or worthy of excitement. you are more than willing to get excited over reviews of critics? critics that are more than capable of giving a game AAA scores when to you personally it doesn't deserve it.

There is not one person on this forum that could convince me DragonAge, Fallout 3, No More Heroes, Oblivion, GRAW, and quite a few others are actually good or fun enough to be worthy of that 9+ score.

And to be quite frank scores in general are a flawed way to judge the quality of a game. You run the risk of major inconsistency. Such as No MOre Heroes and No More Heroes 2. Even someone like me who has a massive distaste for No More Heroes can clearly see that NMH2 is arguably a better done game. Yet it got the lower score(It deserves lower NMH sucks).

AN elitist? pfft I'd laugh at that part as well.

I had seen another thread on this, but didn't have the patience to check out the review then. That said, it left a pretty good impression on me.

The problem with wii exclusives is, one minute, sheep are claiming they are the be all and end all of gaming, then when confronted, they may admit that the wiis overall library is lacking but then it's back to exclusives.

The reason the wii has so many exclusives is because of its weaknesses. It's a niche system with obvious deficiencies, not least power. If it was as powerful as the HD consoles it would share more multiplats and there would be less niche games made for it in response. The likes of Red Steel would be shared by the three systems, and lost in the sea of great games. Put red steel 2 next to an average game like Call of Juarez 2 and it cannot compete. It's only noteable because it's a mini oasis in the sahara that is the wii library. Put it on another console and it is lame. Sad but true.

If the wii had Arkham Asylum and GTA IV you wouldn't even acknowledge games like Red Steel and world of goo.

And don't even tell me the reviews are consistent. Try putting Red Steel 2 on the 360 as it is. There is no way it's getting 7.5.

I thought World of Goo was better than GTA4... *cocks shotgun*

If you prefer puzzlers you might think that way.

It wasn'tm but you're entitled to think that.
