*facepalm*

i am not defending Bungie because this really shows not only greed but also desperation but this form of dlc is not pay to win its optional and made for the ultimate laziness of a gamer.

You can easily go from level 1 to max level (which is 40) in few days especially if you have a high leveled player with you to help out with the hard strikes its not hard at all and besides this item is highly useless because even though you will go to level 25 you STILL missing out on all the gear that you would have gotten while leveling up normally this is like the ultimate uselessness of a dlc and btw bungie gave this item to everyone last year and i still have this useless item (by the time they gave everyone this item all of my 3 characters were already max level )

its even more funny that those who are complaining about this dont even play destiny! and as always dont like the game? dont play it

Betcha Bungie wishes they stayed with MS since if they were tired of Halos, they must be sick what they are required to do with Densiy. :P

Who says they are required?

Me, and you should know by now, when I say it "SP slaps chest" you can take it to the bank. :P

Bungie is making way more money making this game, and everything they do with this game. They wanted to do a lot of this stuff.

They should have gone back home (Mac/PC). Forget those consoles.

Touche, mac, eh, you know the routine, follow the money, it's just what they all do but who could blame them I suppose.

I feel like one could draw many parallels between Bungie and Rare, as sad as I am to say that. The Bungie of yesterday made shooters, third-person beat-em-ups, real time strategy games, and even a pong clone. Since the MS acquisition, they've made Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo, and Destiny (a very Halo-like shooter).

They'll always occupy a soft spot in my gamer heart, but I can't help but think the best days of Bungie are behind it... Time will tell. And I'll admit, nostalgia is a powerful thing, but if you've never heard of Pathways Into Darkness, you'd do yourself a favor by looking it up. That's a game before its time.

I dunno about that comparison since Rare prior to Kinect deving ( what a shame ) was making some truly great new IP, unique, creative games for 360 all scoring at least AAE. Plus now they've been giving a chance by MS, likely Phil had a big say in this, to do what they're calling the most ambitious project Rare has ever attempted, Sea of Thieves, I've got high hopes they'll be back to form with this one.

Pathways into Darkness.... I'm not familiar with but knowing you and your taste, I'll be sure to look it up at some point, I'm sure you're right about it.

EDIT: Just looked PiD up, sorta reminds me of Wolfenstein mixed with Killing Time on 3DO. lol

No on both counts there buddy. They signed a ten year contract and can't wait till it's over so they can move on. I mean, there's little doubt they wanted to do Destiny but not like this, not like this.

You are basing this on what exactly? Microsoft gave them the option to do a new ip, so long as they made Halo, they bounced.

Bungie then got to pick, hand pick their publisher, with the criteria that they be given free reign to do whatever, and all the pub has to do is marketing and funding. It's not like they were oblivious to Activision's rep, and this was well after the Infinity Ward stuff had happened. Given how things broke down with Marty O (who came off as a prick), and how Bungie has always been, yeah they've enjoyed this deal plenty based by the one true love of all business: Money.

Do not get a Joseph Staten leaving Bungie confused with the higher ups not wanting to do this type of shit, they clearly did, and they run the show.

Bashing, wtf you talking about? Destiny flopped so I call it Density for the funny :P and saying I bet Bungie wished they stayed with MS is bashing now? C'mon man.

Well, without the contract here for us and my lawyer son to review, I won't waste anymore time on this nor should you.

The bolded part..... Yes indeed, that we can agree on.

EDIT: Listen my VP pal :) just want you to know, I remain a big fan of Bungie and likely always will just for making favorite IP, Halos.

Regarding the level 25 shortcut, it's actually not that big of deal, reaching that level happens relatively quick. It's really just making most impatient gamers play.

Not sure how I feel of Silver curency yet, when I played before there were too many currencies/materials so if they finally made just a single currency then fine by me.

What I dislike about the game if late is the narrative going around that TTK improved on Destiny's story and gave it a narrative quality, but it really didn't, it gummed up much of the games precious DLC content, threw a wrench in the leveling mechanics, gimped previous rare and valuable gear. TTK had given me less reason to play Destiny, before TKK I was hooked on Destiny, now not so much. I haven't touch the game in months and will probably ignore future DLC.

I'm not upset at Bungie's though, I'm upset at our gaming press for failing to properly cover TTK with that reading off the note cards with their praise of it.

Destiny is more than a year old now. No new content is being added, so let it go and play something new. Destiny is dead. Move on.

This is for people who don't have the desire to grind.

Despite all that's wrong with Destiny (and there's a lot wrong with it) this isn't wrong. All MMO's have paid-level boosts. I just started playing The Old Republic again and you can pay to start at level 60.

@foxhound_fox: This isn't an mmo. With this level 25 boost you cut corners in a game with no content. What are you trying to achieve by reaching level 25 so quickly? Can't wait to stand in the tower, max level asking yourself what the **** am i supposed to do in this empty game? Not to mention how ridiculously overpriced this thing is. I mean, $30 for 25 levels? Are you serious? If this was an actual mmo and leveling up to X level took you over 50h, then okay, for lazy fucks this may be acceptable. But $30 for ~6h of gameplay? Da ****.

This is the greediest downloadable content i have ever seen in any game ever.

@silversix_: Exactly. You and I have both played the game thoroughly, so we know that to be the case. Everything about Destiny is absurd, even the people that play the damn thing. I'm so glad the absurdity has ended for me, and I'm absolutely ashamed I spent so much time getting nowhere with it.

Did I have some awesome moments with friends? Yes, a few. Was all that time spent grinding and not playing better games worth it? Absolutely not.

A loaded gun to my dome couldn't convince me to buy Destiny 2, or anything Bungie puts out in the future. **** them and anyone else who releases such tripe in the future.

This is the same as payday2, they said they would not have them, and boom, now they have em. Atleast be honest and upfront about it like Killing Floor 2 or Halo 5.

While everyone has their attention on their latest ripoff known as $30 booster packs, did you know that they charged $10 for a *book* with 2 pages that tracks your progress during their racing event? Oh yes, $10 to track your stats, TEN DOLLARS to see your own stats! But wait, that isn't the worst part. This book is only used for the racing portion of the game and nowhere did they confirm that its coming back in the future. *If* its poorly received, the racing event is never coming back so the book you've purchased, well, you can shove it up your ass cuz it'll have zero use ever. Yes, *wow* is the word. To those saying that Destiny doesn't deserve as much hate as its been receiving... you need to wake the **** up.

Agree. Leveling up is pretty much easier now then it was at launch. This DLC of a boost doesn't even get you skills points for your powers, this is just for those who wants to play The Taken King right away since it requires lvl 25 to do so. This is proof that Bungie is desperate to get all the money it can and this is just sad that they have to sell a useless boost. We all know the Destiny is a flawed game but we are still playing it. I have no shame that I in fact enjoy the game.

Dunno if they have a team that analyses whether people will pay money for it or not, but we know people are going to pay for it, and.... damn, they're gonna make a bucketload of money... in the short term.

The snowballing of ill will Bungie is having amongst the enthusiast gamer community isn't a good thing in the long term. How many people are going to be extra cautious of Destiny 2, or even Bungie's next IP after that? A lot of people will be.

Conversely, look at CD Projekt Red, which developed such amazing rapport with gamers. People pretty much gave them money even if they didn't care for The Witcher 3.

Just imagine the amount of kids that will get rippedoff this holiday season... All the money that they will receive. Its literally zero investments and a freaking $30 per person lol that's the price of an expansion except you didn't spend any money making it. People that defend Destiny will tell you that they're doing this for free "events", events like what? The shitty 2 tracks race that gets old after 40 minutes? Even shittier Halloween event that made you collect f*cking candies in the tower? Are you serious? With the metric ton of money they're making (especially with this $30 booster pack), they should offer 1 raid per two months and at least 1 strike per month FREE until Destiny 2. Only then this ripoff factory will be justified.
