I know many won't be interested in this "game", but I'd love to experience it. A £5 PSN / XBL download would be fine and totally doable. Any chance it will happen?

My PC is pretty bad. Actually, I know the original mod ran on Source, but I'm not sure the commercial release does. I heard they rebuilt it from the ground up.It runs on the half-life 2 engine I believe.
Almost anything (short of integrated intel graphics) will run the game fine.

The console manufacturers charge royalties and 40,000$ per patch after the first three patches, right? :P

Heh, true enough any of the modern i series APU's from intel should run it fine!
It just seems silly not to port it. If it is in source already, the 360 will have no issues with it, and the PS3 will only need minor tinkering. Whack it on PSN/XBL, charge about 10 bucks and it will sell well. There is enough interest.thetruespin
That's quite the assumption. The "game" has no gameplay. It was probably worth it to build the game on PC since most of the work was already done.
The PC people use for internet will run this game easilly, why the need for a console version ?
It is not Witcher 2
mope.
consolites are too stupid to understand the deeper meaning of this game
they need more boobs to buy a game

right....you just keep thinking that.
like PC gamers console players are a varied bunch aswell.
Don't want to be one of those people but I honestly can't imagine Dear Esther interesting console players. If you're that interested install Steam and buy it on there, its system requirements should be pretty low so most people would be okay.
Not happening and not doable. It's not sold THAT well and it feels like it's not even an indie game. Do you know how much it costs to release on xbox?LustForSoulEh? It made back its development costs in 16 hours. That's extremely impressive. Releasing on the XBox can cost squat, it depends what avenue you use, and how you deal with Microsoft. Take the 'indie games' part of XBLA which has some atrocious stuff on it.

Didn't you know only PC gamers played arthouse games! Such a refined bunch, not caring about those dull action titles, oh no sir! Gosh it's hilarious double standards calling console gamers 'stupid', over the thing, when XBLA has had its own share of equally 'artsy' games over the years, despite the market being so rigid there.Hi, I would like to interject If I may. I'm a console gamer and I resent nearly everything you guys are saying. I do not understand whatsoever why it is okay to make generalizations and assumptions about console gamers. It makes absolutely no sense to me. Since when does a gamer's gaming platform dictate what type of gamer he or she is?
Anyway, I didn't post to defend console gamers, I just wanted to say that I really really hope that Dear Esther gets ported to consoles. I really want to play it, but don't have a suitable pc. I think it would sell very well, games like Limbo and Journey are some of the best-selling downloadable titles of all time with Journey being the fastest selling PSN game of all time. The fact is, there are console gamers who aren't pc gamers for a reason (like, not having a suitable PC and not willing to buy one). I hope someone out there will at least consider porting Dear Esther. Thanks.
