PS3 owner here....I had to borrow a friend's 360 to play the demo tomorrow...I'm gonna have it till Tuesday when the PS3 verson drops...

although I don't like Microsoft and their approach to gaming.....I will say I like that they release demos through out the week instead of just one day of the week....

now what to do with these games sitting on my table.... Gears 2....Halo 3...Mass Effect 1......hmmm.

speaking about football (ahem American Football  ) ... I still have Madden 06 for the 360, even though I never owned the system.... I bought that game and 2 memory cards early before the 360's launch....I was ready to get a 360 at launch...but I couldn't find one...and as the months past by I started hearing problems...and have moved on ever since....

until today....so I'll give it a try....I'll pop in the o'l Madden 06..........and of course the other games :P

BUT F'N BACKBREAKER WILL OWN MY SOUL FOR THIS WEEKEND!!!!

Backbreaker will be a nice departure from Madden, especially with the customization features... I however think, it will not be deep enough for most people... Regarding American Football or Futbol (Soccer) Its just a cultural thing. Us Americans and our Canadian brothers to the north value the aspect of violence and pain, and ultimately triumph in our sports. Its another reason why Rugby is also popular in the here and why we love Hockey. It's the controlled chaos and violent nature of sport thats seductive. Its about putting your entire body on the line, knowing you could seriously be injured, paralyzed and possible die due to being involved in a violent collision. Futbol (Soccer) is a much more graceful sport, that much is true, but it just culturally it doesn't click. In America is usually what kids in the suburbs play, not kids that come from impoverished backgrounds, where most of the best athletes in ANY sport come from. Think about it. Anywhere from Brazil to Italy to Russia, usually the best players are not even what we would consider being Middle Class. These top athletes in soccer usually come from very poor neighborhoods. They will play from a very young age, and hone their craft with dreams of making it to the professional level. In a poor neighborhood, you get just ONE soccer ball and a whole bunch of kids can play. In America...same thing, except its football or basketball. Except in Football, these kids have an outlet where your anger and aggression is rewarded. Culturally, to most Americans, soccer is a suburban kids sport, a womens sport, or a sport for kids who couldn't shoot a basket, or handle being hit. A lot of Americans think soccer is a soft persons sport. The way players would lobby after a hard tackle for a Penalty Kick, looking like they just got hit by a car. When they don't get a call there way, its like "Oh Im fine" and sprint down the field. In American football and even basketball, that kind of play is something that is looked down upon, and by doing something like that, you are considered less of a man. Hey thats just the way it is. It isn't wrong or right, better or worse. Just look at all the international and euro players in the NBA, "flopping" is their strong suit, its a savvy tactic that dominates international play. But if your an American and you do that, everybody will just call you a woman. This is the reason why Americans kept losing in international basketball. We couldnt understand that the officials were rewarding this "pu$$y play", something a lot of NBA officials are reluctant to do. Unitl we got smart this past olympics. Its why everybody called out Paul Pierce after needing a "rest" in the 08 Finals, after Tom Brady lobbied for a call against the Ravens...etc. These guys were considered less of a man among his peers because of this. Its a total cultural "tough-guy" attitude. I honestly dont understand, why people bash American football making comments like "American sissy's need helmets and pads!" "Handegg!" what have you. You will need pads when you have a 350LB + (158 KG +)Lineman trying to hit you as hard as he can more than 50 times a game. Its a reason why after retirement, most go on the have a host of health problems until the day they die. Sorry but these things just do not happen to Soccer players. You cant even compare Rugby to American football. Lots of Rugby players that convert to American football, most notably Mat McBriar, who said time and time again that American Football was much more violent and harder hitting than Rugby. Granted he never played professional Rugby. But when he played in college, in one of his first games, he got hit. After ward they interviewed him and he stated that he never got his so hard before in his life...but he absolutely fell in love with the game from that moment. The feeling of putting your body on the line, the pain and ultimate satisfaction knowing you "put it all out on the line", and hes just a Punter! They have done studies on the various impact of several different sports, when it comes to contact nothing absolutely nothing puts more stress in the body than American Football. No not even Rugby. So I don't know why these Rugby fans call American Football, soft because of the pads and helmets, you will need these or you risk severe injury. Does all of that make Rugby less of a "real mans sport"...hell no. These guys also put it all out on the line...and that's what Americans respect. No need to bash other sports. I played all three at some level throughout my life and enjoy all three. But I believe I am competent enough to understand that its a cultural difference, not that ones considered better than the other.

In most parts of the planet this is what football looks like:

In the U.S.A

it looks like this:

Defence ! Defence ! Defence!

There is a difference:

Soccer is about finesse and scoreless ties. Football is about violence and stratedgy. Soccer is ballroom dancing and football is war.

You clearly haven't played the real football (soccer). All you americans should switch to FOX network on saturday at 2:30 PM Eastern to watch the beautiful game played infront of millions and millions of fans (UEFA Champions League final), it's a lot bigger than your super bowl

I don't care how many people watch it. Millions of people watch Oprah and the Olympics, but they're both still boring. Make the nets twice as big and maybe I'll start watching. And eject any player that flops.
