Any lemmings/sheep/hermits buying a PS3 tomorrow?

Just wondering, is any lemming/sheep/hermit/gamer actually going to buy their first Playstation 3 tomorrow? I know alot of people were waiting to get a PS3.

I would never buy a console for one game, and my experiences with the MGS series have been mixed so far. I may buy a PS3 eventually though, some of the upcoming exclusive games sound very promising

Nope, I bought the first three and just couldn't get into them. I was four hours into the first one and just stopped.

Really, it seems like everyone on this board assumes that the Metal Gear Solid franchise is the most amazing thing since sliced bread, but it really isn't.

There's other exclusives on the PS3 that interest me more.

Nope in my opinion 1 60 dollar game is not worth a 400 dollar purchase(500 for special edition with dual shock), Yes I do know there are other games for it like RFOM, War Hawk,ect but still IMO its not worth the 400 dollars yet.mysockshurt

Maybe way in the future when I can pick up the system for cheap though... like maybe at a pawn shop or something.

If I ever get the itch to play MGS4 though, I'll find a way. Like maybe, buy a PS3 for a month and then take it back.

Nope. I have not took the plunge in next gen consoles yet, tomorrow is the day I do.

I am close to a PS3 and the 360 thanks to family members. I feel the PS3 is the better of the two. I always wanted a 80GB so tomorrow is the best day to get one. I have played alot of PS3 games and I am more comfortable with it.

I dont own one yet, but I say its the best because I have played it countless of times as well as the 360.

No need to buy a PS3 since I already have one, I've played some decent games on it (Uncharted, Motorstorm, GT5P, etc) but overall there's very few games I find truly find appealing on consoles --- I really prefer PC gaming and always prefer multi-plats on the PC (feel comfortable waiting for GTA4 PC for example).

However, regardless of that, I am going to buy MGS4, the reviews I've seen so far have convinced me :D

Looking at the trailers, the graphics look no better than MGS3. They raised the bar too high with the last installment.ash10692

I don't find MGS4 to be amazing visually, but that's just going too far. MGS4's graphics look far better than MGS3. I had a chance to look at the PS2 MGS games lately and I was shocked at how much they have aged visually. Sure, they were the cream of the crop back then, but trust me, MGS4 looks far better.

The graphical gap between last gen and this gen is alot wider than people seem to think.

With the high price of gas and summer just around the corner, I think there's still alot of people that will pass up getting a PS3. MGS4 might be a great game, but one great game on a console with that kind of price still isn't enough to make these people get a PS3. Knowing Sony's track record this gen, most likely they'll come out with a better bundle for those who waited.

And this 80 gig PS3 MGS4 bundle is just another firesale, they want to clear out the 80 gigs for something new. Just Wait.

text based games are horrible ! if you have a friend with an oldie tv you can test it with Bioshock and try too find the right savegame muhahaha :twisted:

What about you, have you played MGS 1-3 and the PSP titiles? Or did you just catch up on the plot via wikipedia like 60% of everyone else buying that game.
