I'm a big friggin fan of the Dual Shock's. (Except maybe the ps3 one. Did that one miss rumble or something it was kinda light)

Anyway the Dual Shock 4 was phenomenal, it felt great my hand, I was winning tons of ranked matches in rocket league, destiny, and street fighter 5.

I couldn't win shit with the xb1 controller.

Anyway new "DualSense" doesn't look like a dual shock at all and im worried about it. They went with this big fatter xbox design which I hate btw, and the sides look more curved and it doesn't look as comfortable to me.

I know I haven't used it yet but I doubt its gonna feel better than the dual shock 4. The Dual Shock 4 was perfect for me.

Is anyone else worried about dual sense new shape or design? Was the dual shock 4 your main controller this gen and you don't want things to change like me etc. Maybe just let me use the Dual shock 4 on ps5 games would be nice imo.

I mean, it's a controller. It's the one that comes with the console. Use it enough and you'll get accustomed to it. That's pretty much the end of it.

Third party controllers will be available, just buy one of themz.

That's what very exceptional about PC, can pretty much use any controller, ever.

Yeah I'll continue to use the dual shock 4 on PC for sure. I like how valve integrated it into steam now I don't need to use xb1 anymore.

I wouldn’t say that I’m necessarily “worried” about it as I think it’ll “fine” for what it is but I’m certainly not expecting it replace the Xbox controller as my favourite.

Nah. Looks like a basic ass standard controller design. Pick it up and feel right at home, just like with any modern controller.

These days I'm more concerned with build quality, minor differences in shape and layout are whatever.

Curious to see how those adaptive triggers and the improved rumble feel.

I can't use the xb1 controller the bumpers are really hard to push down there very clicky. Plus the D-Pad is completely useless especially fighters or 2d indies. Hand was cramping too using the xb1 controller for too long doesn't feel as spread out as the DS4.

Looks fine to me, and quite similar to the DS4 in shape - I think the two-tone creates an optical illusion that is throwing people off.

As for features, it looks great - the feedback triggers are big and one of my favorite parts of the X1 controller. Good addition

@ProtossRushX: Well not all hands are the same and I guess it’s also has something to do with what one is use to having. The d-pad is better on the DS4 but I’ve used the d-pad on the Xbox One controller on numerous fighting and 2D games and haven’t had any real problems with it myself. I found it markedly better the the 360’s d-pad. Never had any problems with the bumpers either. I like the contour of the Xbox One controller as well and find it feels quite comfortable in my hands so seeing the Dual Sense get somewhat of a similar contour makes it a bit more appealing to me. I wouldn’t say that I necessarily get cramps from using the DS4 but it does feel less comfortable to me with the placement of the analog sticks.

Sony still sticking with bad thumbstick positioning, eh?

‘They went with this big fatter xbox design’

Please don’t compare this garbage with the superior Xbox controller.

Bro I don't use AA batteries in 2020 so that controller completely off the table for me.

It really isn't *that* different. You should take a look at the 360 view of it here:

Not really.

I wish they would have called it DualShock 5. I liked that name.

The layout is identical to the DS4. Just a bit different overall form factor.

You can never properly judge a controller based on pics. You need to hold it and use it.

The only thing I'm worried about ist 1st gen controller woes like flaking DS sticks. As soon as I read a topic about it, bought caps immediately.

And if you're beating people in online games on the PS4, then that says how bad PS4 gamers are at mp LOL.

Here's a side by side:

It apparently has a 1560mAh battery. ~56% larger battery than the latest revision of the DS4.

@Sevenizz: judging by sales, Xbox is the one using bad thumbstick position. Have fun with your unpopular preference.

The DualSense (which is a dumb name btw) looks like it will be much more comfortable than the DS4 to me because it's basically copying the shape of the XB1 controller (which along with the Switch Pro controller is the most comfortable).

The face buttons aren't colored. Wonder if they're just gonna be grey in the games too.

yes they said they did it because it more distracting on the screen when face buttons are in color. they want to get rid of color buttons on screen in those segments xbox players hate so much. now there using transparent ones on the screen to indicate what button to press. to allow it not to block whats behind it.

like when your finisher comes up on top of the bad guy in god of war then have chain of buttons to press to finish him. i for one like this because it gives you a chance to hit the wrong button and fail your attempt. instead just letting the computer to do the finishing move.

i hope i make sense its hard for me to explain something by typing it sorry. i always had this problem. it kind of like writers block lol.

Thats a poor arguement lol.

The Xbox controller is widely preferred not only by the PC community, but its also seen regular defacto use in mainstream proffessional fields such as the US military, medical research, and engineering. And it has been, all the way back to the Xbox 360 era.

Let me know when the fucking US Navy and Airforce use a Dualshock/Dualsense to pilot a predator drone, conduct drone strikes, control the periscope on a nuclear submarine, or operate a mortar gun on a warship. Because they've been using the Xbox One and 360 controllers for the past 10+ years.

I dont know about Xbox One vs PS4, but there were certainly more 360 controllers in the wild vs its contemporary Dualshock, simply due to it being the defacto controller on PC.

Whatever. They're both inferior to the switch pro controller. It has the pros of both, with the negatives of neither. For $10 more.

Well the military wasn't using the xb1 d-pad to control the drones cause they would kill themselves cause it sucks so bad.

Also there's more dual shock 4's in the wild right now and I use the DS4 on PC steam allows you integrate it into all their games now seamlessly. I went from 360 controller to DS4.

This makes me think that the controllers are going to cost at least $70 and that the revision was likely due to the fact they plan on adding pro controllers with back paddles as well. Why else would they release the back button peripherals late in this gen and then NOT have them standard moving forward?

It's elementary. On that note... I just want the damn pro controller.. lol. Pro Sense? Advanced Sense? Common Sense? Bets on the name?

Either way the controller looks as though it will be just fine for me but I wonder about those people with smaller hands.
