I'm a fan of the 360 controller, yet I'm considering the PS4 for next gen. I'm wondering if the PS4 controller is a vast improvement over the PS3 because that controller felt puny in my hands and not as good as the xbox 360 for me. Anyone use it yet?

Thanks

Yeah. Everyone who went to gamescom and tried both favored the PS4's controller. They said the Xbox ONE controller felt like a huge downgrade from the 360's controller. Really wow, that's excellent news. I have preordered all of my games for the PS4 this time round. I'm just not a fan of kinect or the tv integration features on xbox, the price as well is a little steep. Glad to hear I should like the controller.

As an Xbox fan I can safely say the PS4 controller is superior to the Xbone controller after using it. Now It's not surprising that the BF4 devs said the PS4 controller is superior.

Dualshock 4 - Its too big now, I don't know how cows tiny little hands will cope. Also, its filled with too many gimmicks like the lightbar and touchpad. Also, the face buttons are very cheap and plasticy, the triggers still have nothing on the Xbox controllers triggers and the thumbsticks are still symetrical which is inferior.

XOne controller - The perfect size now, smaller than the beastly DS4. No gimmicks, it has the innovative impulse triggers that everyone is raving about after using. It has low power-state modes so that the battery hardly drains. It looks betters. Triggers are better and mold to your fingers. Thumbstick grips have been greatly improved, plus still asymetrical.

...............*laughs hard* righttt so People that voted the 360 controller as amazing, then used the xbox one controller which is almost spot on the same except with a better dpad, and internal changes...etc say its not very good.

yeah, you know I held this rock the other day, but then held it the next day and it just didn't feel the same.

Next up the stupidity that dualshock 3 was perfect as quoted by Sheens, and the ds4 is perfect as quoted by sheens.

LOL!! No. It wasn't even close. The XBox 360 blew the PS3 controller away by a mile. Even after Sony tried to copy some of the 360's features. lol!! The only thing that's great on the PS3 controller is the D-Pad and sensor buttons. The analog sticks and triggers are not good. The controller was way to light without the rumble. I felt like I could break it in my bare hands. It felt cheap compared to the 360 controller.

I just held one today and it feels awesome. The analogs are concave and spread far enough apart so that my thumbs don't touch, and the triggers feel nicer. Although I refuse to buy anyone's "launch hardware," it's definitely in the to buy list at some point, a 300 dollar PS4 is in my future.

I don't see the problem with the controller. I have big hands and I can see why people usually prefer the Xbox controller, however the Playstation controller is also very good. And if you have gigantic hands and really can't stand PS4's controller you can always buy one from those companies that design custom controllers.

They had a unit in DC about a week ago on base and thats when i first got to see and touch a PS4 and controller. While i still prefer the Xbox controller, the PS4 controller was surprisingly comfortable to hold, Triggers were still weird but im glad they made it bigger with more weight. The only thing i didnt like was the joystick placement. I hate them being in the center, i think offset is superior. Luckily there are 3rd party controllers so it isnt a problem Console was super sleek and stylish, so much better than the xBOXY One :P

The PS4 controller is the exact same design as Sony's previous Dualshock controllers; Sony only added extra features such as a touchpad, mic etc. With that said, there's absolutely nothing the Dualshock controllers have on Xbox controllers. Xbox controllers are ergonomically designed for shooters, platformers, fighters and every other genre. DS controllers have always been the best for platformers. No one's going to change their opinion of a DS just because it has a gimmick touchpad. Afterall, that has nothing to do with ergonomics whatsoever. Exposed the cheerleader in you, broheim.

Actually the natural position for your thumbs is the symetrical design... unless of course your thumbs are broken and one points up at all times :)

Dualshock 4 - Its too big now (sure it's bigger, but mthe grips are no bigger than X1 grips), I don't know how cows tiny little hands will cope. Also, its filled with too many gimmicks like the lightbar and touchpad. Also, the face buttons are very cheap and plasticy (no one has stated this yet, do you have a link that shows the face buttons being cheap?), the triggers still have nothing on the Xbox controllers triggers (yup. I will give you that from what I have seen) and the thumbsticks are still symetrical which is inferior. (Matter of opinion)

XOne controller - The perfect size now, smaller than the beastly DS4. No gimmicks, (really? Yet you then proceed to say -> ) it has the innovative impulse triggers that everyone is raving about after using. It has low power-state modes so that the battery hardly drains. It looks betters. (opinion, but sure I'll give you that one) Triggers are better and mold to your fingers. Thumbstick grips have been greatly improved, plus still asymetrical.

I have not had hands on time with either controller yet, but from what I have seen and read, it seems that gamers should be pretty happy with either controller.

Dualshock 4 - Its too big now (still smaller than X1 controller if I'm not mistaken), I don't know how cows tiny little hands will cope.

XOne controller - The perfect size now, smaller than the beastly DS4 (Pretty sure it's bigger, which means if the DS4 is too big for you, then the X1 controller will be too). No gimmicks, (really? Yet you then proceed to say ->) it has the innovative impulse triggers that everyone is raving about after using. It has low power-state modes so that the battery hardly drains. It looks betters. (opinion, but sure I'll give you that one) Triggers are better and mold to your fingers. Thumbstick grips have been greatly improved, plus still asymetrical.

Its not, the DS4 controller is bigger than the X1 controller ... which is smaller than the 360 controller ... which is funny because cows have spent the entire generation saying Xbox controllers were too big and that the DS3 was the perfect size lmao

Damn that thing is wide.

Also, just look at the face buttons. No need to say any more LOL

Rumble is a gimmick? No its proven. Its used it pretty much every game. How many games use the sixaxis? lets just see how many use that ridiculous touchpad

I edited my post as I realised that yes the DS4 is bigger than the X1 controller BUT the grips are still the same size as the X1 controller. Also I'm pretty certain it was mainly the lems complaining the entire gen that the Dualshock 3 was way too small, so now it has been increased a little suddenly it's too big? You fanboys make no sense (across all fanboy groups mind, not meaning just lems)

If anything, I would say the X1 face buttons look cheap, hopefully they won't be like the X360 controllers, where the face buttons all had a horrible cheap clicky feel to the buttons, at least on the earlier controllers.

Right, so extra rumble in triggers is not a gimmick, yet a touch pad is? BOTH are pretty gimmicky and uneeded in my opinion.

Am I the only one here who thinks its quite stupid fighting over which controller is better considering nobody tried them yet??

Imo Sony did huge improvements in the controller's design and media feedback confirmed DS4 is a great controller..

As for MS, their previous controller was great and they continued refining its design for the X1's controller so have no doubts its going to be great..Â
