I totally agree. It just seems to me just like the Trophies, Home is being rushed and isn't close to offering all the features promised.

I haven't gotten into the beta, but should I take your word and not get my hopes up for Home?

I never cared about it in the first place and won't use to when it releases. Its not a reason to get a PS3 in my mind at all. But then again, I've had a PS3 since launch so I don't really care.

Why would Home rival Xbox Live? Doesn't the PsN already do that well enough?

And remember what you are playing is a Beta.

The problem with HOME is that in the time span since it was first shown MS has developed the Avatar overhaul with Netflix integration, put the infrastructure in place to launch it, and set a November target for getting it out and running. We are going to see MS' response to HOME in place before HOME actually launches.

-

That just doesn't bode well for Sony's ability to execute the updates we'd like, fix problems, and implement new features. If LIVE can put out two new features in the time it takes PSN to get one, well, it won't be able to be a better service. And that's a shame, because the competition is what drives them both to improve.

remember though MS( as in Peter Moore) said Sony doesn't have the DNA to do a great online service, especially one that is supposed to rival xbox live.

I think Home might be good it's not really my type of thing though...I'll give it a shot and like all things I can only form opinions once i have tried them out...speculation on my part is useless.

If by DNA he means "infrastructure" he might be right. MS is a software company at heart, and one with a great deal of database / online / net app experience. For Sony to try and out-pace them in providing an online gaming service is simply not playing to Sony's strengths.

-

I feel we're seeing that with the long development time for HOME. That's dangerous to Sony, because if MS can revise the LIVE service to the needs of each generation quickly, while Sony is stuck implementing the desired online features of a generation mid-lifecycle, they may lose more ground as the service feature set required by gamers changes over time.

Don't care about HOME or NXE I can't do half the stuff on NXE. Hdd's are overpriced. A 20gb isn't helping me no way, no how. It can only hold 4 games max depending on how much gb the games take out. The games I plan on buying take out to much memory. I refuse to install, delete, install, delete, install, delete. I have yet to by my Elite yet. I don't even know if I should get an Elite. I'd rather buy more games for my PS360 then waste money on a Elite. I can deal with a loud 360. The avatar thing looks gay and is for casuals, bad enough the new interface is being forced on us. I don't watch blu-ray movies on PS3, so I won't use Netflix. I use my PS360 for fricking games not movies! I stopped caring about HOME a looong time ago. It looks fugly

yeah thats most likely what he was talking about. I just wonder did MShave this planned all along or did it in response to Home. I just find it funny how with basically in a year to 2 years time they created something that looks completely fleshed out and has more useful features for gaming then home does.

It's taking so long to get it out the gate. Sony killed this product with its delay. I will still use it, but not as thrill as I once was.

Yeah, no. Not even close.

The hell does that mean? The PsN allows friends lists, sales of DLC, games and movies, allows better online play for multiplats and relatively equal online play for exclusives, what exactly makes the Xbox live different apart from a much worse online community and havuing to pay for it?

theres no point of it, why go into a weird virtual world when you can more quickly jump into games with your friends without it. Makes no sense.

Rare claim Microsoft put them to work on making Avatars around the Launch of the Wii, so you can presume this was in planning before Home. Microsoft is without doubt constantly planning and evolving Live.

better online play for multiplats?? :D really?

you mean like how gta 4 has 14 or so modes for the 360 and only 5 or so for the ps3?

how virtua fighter 5 has online for the 360, but not for the ps3.

equal exclusives?, :D lol

i could go on...

warhawk is good, but name another exclusive that has good online play for the ps3.

I was excited about home but at this point i find myself not caring. It almost seems like sony has lost interest in it as well because they havent said much about it in so long.If and when it comes out i hope its good.Im currently playing the socom beta and i seriously hope that that game is better than what ive been waisting my time with.It freezes and has so many bugs that i cant even begin to explain how bad that game is.Then again i have to remind myself that it is a beta and i should just wait til its released before i bash or praise it.

In terms of mindshare, Sony's lost alot of momentum going into the holidays. From what I can tell, info on Home has gone dark.

On the flipside, MS is doing a good job of marketing NXE to its current subscribers.

Home will be fun for the people who aren't expecting it to be the 2nd coming of Jesus.

All I want from home, is basically a virtual myspace, you can meet people go around and play Chess with people, go into whatever game you want with a group of people stuff ike that, and I've heard it'll do all of that, so i'm excited for it.

Everyone else who thinks Home is going to be some kind of revolution is setting themselves up for disappointment, you guys need to just look at Home as an equalizer against Xbox Live, thats about it, it's gonna be a unique little thing that you can meet people on and play mini-games, thats how I see it, and I know i'll enjoy it because i'm not hyping it out the wazoo.

Incredible amounts of Lag for multiplatform games. There are some exceptions, like COD4, but most are synonymous with it.

No. If you are plugged in you shouldn't have any lag. Most games that you think have lag are not lagging for anyone else but yourself.

I play near enough all my multiplats on my 360 and i never noticed these incredible amounts of lag you're talking about?, and living in Ireland with a 3mb connection makes me very susceptible to lag especially when playing with American. In saying that yes i have experienced lag in online gaming, but i've experienced it on the 360 and PS3 alike.
