Anyone else disappointed in Rockstar this generation?

RDR2 will be announced this E3 and released March-May 2017. So there's that at least.

Considering R* has done nothing but port GTAV to current systems this gen, I guess so?

I've always been disappointed in them. I love L.A. Noire though.

Yeah but in Gen 7 we also got: GTA: Liberty City and Vice City Stories and Chinatown Wars, not on main consoles, sure, but they were NEW games released by Rockstar in that period.

And I was just going off of all the speculation surrounding new consoles (Nintendo/Sony?/MS?). Not that I believe any of that myself (yet). But it would be a weird thing to have this generation end so soon, and without any truly new games from R*.

Heh heh. That was actually a pretty fun game. My roommate and I used to play that a lot.

Bully was a PS2 game.

Max Payne 3 has the best gameplay of any third-person shooter while Remedy went on to make shallow garbage like Quantum Break.

Rockstar take their time...it is what it is.

I'm not disappointed by something that doesn't exist.

Can't force creators to rush product out and also expect fantastic quality.

I'll take what they release when they are done.

I just want RDR3 to be announced at E3 or sooner.

If I had to guess, that's going to be their next game. Reason they've been content with GTA V isn't just because it sells but also because it make a lot of money each quarter just on microtransactions. If they make another game, they'll probably want a big seller with an online world they can exploit, and if there's anything other than GTA to do that with then it's RDR.

I am disappointed for 2 reasons:

1 - We have not yet gotten another Red Dead title.

B - No single player expansions or meaningful content for GTAV. It just goes to show you that they really could not care less about us and simply chase that money train...Multiplayer. Funny thing is, there are plenty of people that would gladly PAY for an expansion or new content to the single player of GTAV, myself included.

Hard to be disappointed in a game company that hasn't came out with a game this gen yet. ( I'm not counting GTAV) I understand it takes time. Now with their past games: I love Bully, and L.A Noire. I'm going through Max Payne 3 right now and I loved it a lot when I first played through it 4 years ago, but now it's a bit dated, still having a pretty good time with it though. RDR and GTAV really bored me and didn't hook me early on so I never gave them a fair chance. I plan to though.

R* don't go to E3.

I get it, but they haven't announced 1 new game yet have they? Once their next game is released it'll most likely sell like hot cakes.

Thank You, I am a nintendo fan and own a wii u but what nintendo does have no basis on this gen because the wii u basically F****ed off after a few good releases. This gen is far from over.

Well, E3 2016 is about to happen shortly, I would expect an announcement of a brand new Red Dead game soon, if not at E3, sometime this year.

Plus, one that actually looks at the Rockstar timeline would see there is nothing out of the ordinary here:

GtaV and red dead were incredible games. Enjoyed them both thoroughly.

GTA4 was terrible. Most boring game I've ever played.

Gta:Chinatown wars is one of the best handheld games ever made.

Theyre mostly hit for me.

Bring on red dead 2 please... Or new ip.

Team Bondi made LA Noire, Rockstar just published it.

As for me Rockstar hasn't been a disappointment, for them to be a disappointment I would first have to rate them and their games highly, and I don't rate them at all.

I would love a sequel to la noire or rdr personally. But they nailed gta5 which I'm thankful for.

The only good game they made last gen was GTA V. Everything else was garbage and midnight club 3 had way more going for it than midnight club la. I would love a new midnight club but they better do it right this time.

I haven't really been amazed by anything Rockstar made after GTA San Andreas.

And on top of that, it seems like their focus is now on building online stuff where they can stick their microtransactions. Though I can't really blame them. People eat that shit up, and it's only normal to make more of what sells.
