Am I the only one who's a bit worried about Spore? I mean, I sat through waiting for Daikatana to be let down... I looked onward to Bungie's origianl promises of the incredible, massive, open online world that Halo was supposed to offer on the PC and found instead what was a very small scale, though very good game instead... I played Black and White and was quickly bored.... I waited with anticipation for Sid Meier's Dinosaur game and found him saying "it wasn't turning out to be fun" (and this game seemed more like Spore than anything to date, by a longshot - heck, reading about Spore, I'm guessing Wright was pouring over Sid's notes while in production)... And then sat there while Fable's exorbitant promises let us down. Am I the only gamer who is more than a little bit worried?
As a long time gamer, I notice that, most often, by a longshot, it's the devleopers who don't promise the world who deliver it. This game seems like Sid Meier's Dinosaur game version 2.0... And Sid said that wasn't fun, so he scrapped it after dumping significant resources into it - and then went on to produce another incredible Civ game.. Sid - probably only rivaled by John Carmack as greatest PC game developer ever. Seriously, am I the only one who is worried that this game may end up being more interesting concept as opposed to a good, fun game?
Oh, and on a side note, if someone decides to ban me by tomorrow... I don't like my position. I enjoy contributing to this forum in a construtive manner, and not being a troll. I intend to continue to make this forum a better place - don't make me make it a worse one, and just let me post as I am, as I have, and as I intend to continue to do so. Thanks.
I personally think the game looks fun. Mainly because I like the idea of creating your own cell, animal, vehicles, spaceship, buildings and other stuff.
The main bulk of the game could be a repetitive boring mess though. I have hopes though, and I hope it will turn out great.
For those of us on the lighter side of life the glass is half full and spore will definitely not dissapoint. Just try the creature creator.Acemaster27
Trying the creature creator is kind of what prompted me to make this thread... Reminded me more of Black and White than of Simant... If you know what I mean :S
