Anyone else notice Gears 3 beat Killzone 3 in graphics?

Gears 3 may be the new graphics king. Anyone else notice?

Nope, didn't notice.

As of right now, I'd say Gears 3 has the edge in graphics. I love the fact it will have 4 player co op too.

The game looks very nice! but I still thought KZ3 looked better, even with in being in pre-alpha.

Oh I thought that Gears 3 was closer to the release.

Both games looks great in the state their in, but honestly, they were just shown, they've got a long way to go.

here we go, its january 2009 all over again. :P

gears 3 doesnt come out till may 11 next year, and all they said they will be doing is adding to the graphics, or something like that.

Gears 3 comes out roughly 2 months after KZ3. That said, KZ3 is running on only the second iteration of it's engine. the version of UE that Gears 3 is running on, i think i'ts safe to say, has been around longer, so .. well, whatever. Either way, pausing both videos in "similar" screens shows me the differences are nil. just like GeoW2, and KZ2. KZ2 looked a tad better, just like i'm sure KZ3 is going to look a tad better in the end. But "i'm sure" and "i know" are two different things. So i'm not ruling out GeoW3. However, the odds of GeoW3 beating out UC2 is unlikely.0rin

I'd wait until they're both released. A few minutes of gameplay featuring one level in both games, is not enough to base a solid opinion on. THAT said, IMO KZ3 looks more promising than gears 3 in the gfx department. You just can't beat those KZ animations,environmental destructionand all that stuff going on at the screen at the same time :)

but the foilage however..... hmmmm....

Killzone in my opinion has very blurry gameplay..Jamani

Have you ever seen a 3D fitted video? They dont exactly look very good when they arent in 3D. They tend to have a lot of blur.

When we see non 3D videos and graphics then that is a fair comparison. Funny thing is the alpha stage released videos still look better.

Personally I didn't see a big leap from the graphics of GEOW 2, well maybe the foilage :P and that there were CHICKS in this one. but indeed... we shall see *rubs hands together*... yes we shall.

Right now each of them doesn't look much better than their previous iterations. And back then KZ2 kicked GeoW2's ass with it's incredible animations, lighting, particle effects and the overall chaotic feeling, so it's safe to assume that this time it will be the same.

Gameplay or graphics wise? Doesn't matter... KZ2, UC2, GOW 3, Heavy Rain, MGS4 etc etc, would like to say otherwise... and guess what, they have all been released :D
