i think some wii fanboys are just pissed that sony will get better motion controls together with state of the art games thats all imo ... natal doesnt interest me at all but i dont want it to fail either i just dont care

why should anybody wantthem fail exclduing the competition ?? gamers should be happy for every improvement in gaming even if its the other company which they dont own a console from.

maybe nintendoshould also takesome lessons from sony & ms and add blu ray , HD, multimedia playback and solid online and last but not least multiplats capabilityto their next console

AmnesiaHaze

what??? everybody is just annoyed that ps3 and 360 fans hate the idea of motion controls but ride the idea of their companies motion controls.

too much hypocrisy and its rather annoying

[QUOTE="Haziqonfire"][QUOTE="AmnesiaHaze"] going by your logic also the wiis classic controller is a rip off of ps3s dual anlog design , each piece of technology is somehow inspired by the prevoius gens , if noone would take another ones ideas and make it better we would still live in cavesAmnesiaHaze

Theres a difference between being inspired and being seen as a knock-off. The Classic Controller 'looks' similar to the PS3's dual analog, I suppose -- but theres no denying that Move is a rip off of the Wiimote. Like I said, everything is basically the same, even down to the promotional style, which is really actually pathetic.

i dont see any difference there are similar products on each side , for me as a gamer its only good that ps3 will get those controllers no matter if wii was first or not , you cant deny they improved on the wii technology so i'm looking forward , i have both consoles wii and ps3 so im really not biased towards any of them , not sure about you ...

would you consider a next gen nintendo console with real online , HD and bluray a ps3 rip-off as well ?

my friend your terribly misinformed, hd and blu ray were bound to happen in the first place if it wasnt blu ray it was going to be HD DVD etc.

second move didnt improve anything that M+ doesnt do which is dissappointing since its newer tech. Actually Move's lag is greater then M+ by the videos and the critics first reviews on it.

[QUOTE="Renegade_Fury"]

I'm so sick of the same games being recycled, but with only graphic facelifts. If it wasn't for Nintendo bringing motion controls into the mainstream, I would have quit gaming at the start of this gen. So I say, I want them both to succeed and get gaming out of the rut it's been in for the last 10 years.

Hahadouken

Because Nintendo brings the freshness with a half-dozen Mario games since the Wii's inception? I'm glad it pulled you out of a rut, but there hasn't been anything innovative about any of it, remapping the same ole games to a new controller doesn't make them new. At least the games being recycled on the other consoles and PC got a graphical facelift, because the Wii's library didn't. I like stuff like Wii Sports resort, things that were designed around the controller, but there really isn't much substance to something like Wii Sports. It's a party game. What examples can you give me of truly great Wii titles that used motion controls to further the industry?

SMG was nice,Tiger woods golf, RS2, metroid trilogy,RE4 wii edition, many games on the wii do motion controls superb and im honestly happy HD wasnt the face this generation.

At least they try to change something up failure to the "hardcore"or not casuals and many people on this forum like it so their the minority.

im tired of recycled shooters, graphics with almost real characters, movie driven games i want games that take me away from the real world not bring me back to it from a lesser scale.

I enjoy motion controls and think they are going to be a huge part of what moves gaming forward. I think too many people are use to their controls and are worried too much about change. HarlockJC

Increasing development costs + poor economy = harder to recuperate at retail = greater emphasis on tried and true genres (like FPS) and milking of successful franchises + developers being pressured to make their games appeal to a broader, more "casual" audience.

PS You make it sound like the casual dominance of the market is a recent phenomenon.

Either way it seems that casual gaming is ruining serious gaming. I blame the wii for this because before it came in, the only real systems for casuals were hand helds and some console games but now there is a console dedicated to casuals we see that market surging while the others just get by.

Natal seems to go way beyond waggle and I'm now sorta a believer that it will surprise us in a good way.

At least I'm hoping though I always want the option to use the standard controller if I choose. :P

Yes its beyond CRAP. I really dont see any complicated control methods to be implemented with natal, because there are no buttons. You are honestly getting overhyped.

Your "serious gaming" would kill itself. Before the Wii, console household penetration has remained largely stagnant, and people's disinterest in gaming grown. Thus far, gaming growth has been driven by population growth. Now Europe and Japan are facing population decline instead of population growth, and "serious" game development costs (on the HD consoles) are shooting through the roof. Less and less customers due to less people and smaller percentage of those interested in gaming at all, and huge dev costs. "Serious" gaming would kill itself. The industry would face a slow, agonizing death. Whatever your opinion on the different systems and their games, that is cold, hard reality.

Motion controls=casual gamers=casual games that sell=devs stop making real games and cash in on the casuals=wii ruined gaming.gamebreakerz__

What makes the games you prefer "real"? What makes them more "games" than Wii Play Tanks or Wii Sports Bowling? I'm tired of the constant insinuations, from you and others, that the direction Wii is taking gaming in is somehow inferior to the one the HD Twins took. The Wii is practically the only reason I'm playing videogames anymore. Because there's no bull****. Unfortunately, the industry thinks we're stupid for not wanting their bull**** and give us crap. Oh, yay.

Natal looks like it will fail:) It has shown nothing but the ball game that clearly looks terrible in the newest videos, could say even worse than the old e3 demo.

Ironic coming from a Final Fantasy fan. Final Fantasy is the king of casual JRPGs. FF is to SMT is what the Wii is to HD consoles. ;)

The poll seems rather biased.

Anyway, no, I love motion controls. Especially since they potentially offer a level of control that simply isn't possible with a gamepad.

ThePlothole

I agree.

[QUOTE="fastr"]I mean more like Wii style motion control, not the tacked on kind the ps3 has, which is used appropriately, which is sparingly. Aiming with your plastic wii gun isn't advancing anything, it sucks. I don't know what advancing, just like no one thought to themselfs, when we can make cars they'll beat the **** out of these horses! Motion controls are not the future! i'd much rather have my joystick. So far according to this poll, alot of people agree with me. ThePlothole

I would disagree. I find the pointer to be the best aspect of the Wiimote. FAR superior to an analog stick for aiming IMO. And for cursor control that's just plain fact.

People are often resistant to change. Going from the familiar to the unfamiliar. But I bet you that most of those who say they'll never use motion controls will eventually have a change of heart.

When I got a n64 and had a thumb stick, I was like this is awesome! so much better then the D-pad. When we got 2 thumb sticks, again, this is so much better. Rumble, Cool, more engaging. pressure sensitive buttons, again, cool, i can control my speed while driving, or how much to brake. Motion controls, nope these suck. Not afraid of change, just want the change to be good.

Since the Wii is actually doing major damage to quality console gaming, I hope so. At least the 360 and PS3 are the last bastion of quality gaming.

The Wii, or third parties' attitude towards the Wii? And major damage to quality console gaming as in how? Last I checked, Wii games where actual effort is put in tend to be good.

Personally I would love to see them thrive and become something the more core gamers are looking for, but no matter how I wrap my brain around it all 3 of them seem inferior to controler or Keyboard input. Motion sensing lies far to much on human fallibility, and when someone can't play a game well because they threw out there right arm *Or lack a certain appendage lets say feet altogether* they are not only cutting there prospective audience, but making the games less accessible instead of easier to use. I can only see motion control staying a "Extra" to top the controls as it is, and doubtfully will replace or be required for most games this gen, and possibly next gen. The only control scheme I would assume would dominate conventional is thought processing, and thats still got a LONG way to go.

I don't want them to fail until I see what they can bring to the table. For instance, if Move can give me REAL lightsaber feeling in a Star Wars game (like say, Unleashed 2), I will support the accessory with everything I have. But if it ends up like the Wii where all you get for the most part are crap games with no big title support, I'll give them the finger.

The only thing you have to go by right now is the Wiimote, which as a motion controller is frankly rather primitive.

Still, I don't see how bringing pointer precision to a console isn't a good thing.

Yeah your comment did not look like you are saying it's a world beater, you are just hoping MS surprises you. Honestly when I think of Natal now I think of that old spice commerical with that big buff black guy doing karate kicks and punches int he air (hitting imaginary objects).

Wii Sports + Resort, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime, Red Steel 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, House of the Dead 2, 3, Overkill, as examples from my own collection. Non-multimillion production values aren't a necessity for effort, recognizing the key areas where the game has to be good and making them good is. The list has few third-party titles because they've pretty much proceeded to take a collective crap on the system and it's users : /
