Anyone else think Gears of War is overrated?

The people who say gears 2 is laggy are liars, that being said gears 2 is terribly unbalanced and was a complete mess at launch. I don't think uncharted's shooting mechanics are as good as gears. Uncharteds guns sound mega weak compared to gears and I like the way the shooting feels in gears. If epic fixed some of the weapon balance issues in gears 2 I would be playing it everyday like I did with Gears 1.

Also epic are the masters at map making, almost every map in gears 2 is a winner.

no. if you've truely played it you can see its not overrated at all

Gears of war is awesome I still play gears since the day it was released. Gears 2 is not as good as gears 1 they made it noob freindly but its still great.

No way. The first one is pure gaming bliss. I must've beaten the campaign either solo or in co-op at least 5 times, and I wouldn't dare think of the amount of time I spent playing the multiplayer. Gears is definitely the best third-person shooter I've ever played.

I can see how the multiplayer in gears can turn most unskilled players who can't use teamwork off, but it is one of the most satisfying multiplayer games out there.

I think it is, I didn't see what was so awesome about the cover system. I didn't have trouble crouching behind a wall in any other games before Gears of War.

I didn't like it. Bought the PC version with all its "extra content" and still felt thoroughly ripped off. 4-5 hour campaign and 8 player online?:( What's actually THERE is all well and good, but imo it's just not fifty dollars worth of game.

Most shooters this gen are overrated. They should set a cap of 6/10 for pure action shooters.

I don't think the series in general is overrated, but I was a little disappointed in Gears 2. I thought Gears 1 was a lot better, but maybe its because I was expecting to be blown away like I was with the first one.

Then you obviously haven'y played it so why comment, anyone who HAS played would know it's not simply "crouching behind a wall" it's a cover mechanic and works in a variety of ways in gameplay. Why are so many people commenting on either game with obviously not having played the game sheesh.

Ding Ding , winner here. Most people complaining about it either suck , or try to play alone, or with other sucky people and get owned by poeple like me). I'll tell you my win\loss ratio in annex is over 20:1 and my K\d is 2.8 , playing with a well coordinated team that knows how to work every map is very rewarding.

The first one is cool. The second one sucks!!

Gears 1 isnt. It was amazing. Gears 2 has WAY too many issues... it was SOOOO close to be amazing

I played on a 24" monitor and I didn´t lost any of that "wow" factor. If I did,I could just easily fetch my cables and conect it to my 46" Samsung LN46A650.

It´s a win/win situation for the PC version.

One of the main points for GeOW for me was splitscreen co-op. And dont compare online co-op to splitsreen

I don't know if overated is the rigth word. It doesn't really interest me, but i can see its a quality title.

I think you mean LAN, I didn't know the PC one didn't have LAN. BTW I was shocked to hear there were no LAN for STARTREK 2. It was basically built around it

i only played co-op with a friend for a few hours but i found it to be extremely fun

gears is a solid franchise really fun to play it may be overrated by some fans but it keeps up with it hype pretty well
