I doubt it, the 500 million dollar kinect campaign will move loads of 360's the Gap is going to get bigger this year. probably going to go back to howit was pre Ps3 slim for a while. After that you gotta wait for E3 for the games, who knows maybe MS will suprise us. they did with going back to PC this year. and also there is a chance that they have unnanounced games for 2010 just waiting for E3 there are loads of rumours. PS3 will have to wait till 2010 for this thread again.
I'm assuming were talking about sales in which the PS3 was suppose to the 360 over in 08, 09, 10 and now 11. I'm going to say no. 360 has for the last four months been beating the Wii and PS3, and increasing its lead over the PS3. With Kinect and Microsoft's marketing I doubt the PS3 will take the 360 over next year and I really don't think the PS3 will take the 360 over this generation.
That said I could see the PS3 eventually taking the 360 over after the new consoles are out just because Playstation consoles tend to sell long after said generation is over.
2. PS3 price drop. 200$ PS3 will fly off the shelves and could easily cover the 5million gap.
If PS3 gets a price drop, and kinects fails after launch its actually very possible.
Game wise Sony already won 2011. 2011 seems like an even worse year for the 360 than 2009.

Yeah I've got to concede I didn't really consider a price drop. If the PS3 goes to $200 they would sell like crazy, having said that if they go to $200 MS will lower its prices another notch thereby keeping things about the same as far as their lead in sales goes.
i agree. i think M$ focus on Kinect will alienate there core fans who will defect to sony so they can play some proper games

Lol, whatever. Xbox360 still does better for muliplat games, they sell very well on the Xbox360 and it doesn't depend on exclusives to sell like the PS3. Why would it alienate the core 360 gamers? Kinects purpose is to grow, expand and extend the Xbox360s life and install base. Since we're doing this thing again. NOPE. Sells wise PS3 will never catch up. Games wise however maybe because like you said theres some top exclusives coming they might pass 360 games. But remeber gaming companys will sell there game to the highest selling console in order to make more money. Its a close call.
The question is, will these threads finally stop when Sony does move into 2nd place?

I'm calling it here. So many exclusives are coming out this coming year. It's crazy. Socom, LBP2, Last Guardian, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3. I think It will overtake 360 sales overall this coming year. What do you think?

Sheesh!! How many times is this question to be asked? It seems like I see this question every week. The answer is still NO. Sony is behind by more then 5 million units and they aren't going to make that up in a year especially if Kinect's bundles really take off this holiday like people believe it will. I think they are going to sell pretty evenly next year, until Microsoft does another price cut during the E3.

Uuumm.. the 360 still has more games and still have sold more games than the PS3. So, I say "NO" to that statement. lol The PS3 is still last in hardward and software sales.

What about it? Is that like a game changer that's pivotal, and turn the tide or something? What does it do to persuade those sitting on the fence in getting either an Xbox360 pr PS3.?
While Sony does have some nice exclusives...I don't know if it'll be enough to boost hardware sales that quicky. I'll never say never though.

It has some good exclusives, but fanboys hype it up here more then they are worth. It's like exclusives are the end all be all and only they matter. Because it's quite obvious they are not.
I don't think it matters if it will pass it next year, the sales of the two consoles have been so close lately, and the ps3 has already been outselling it. So basically the PS3 is doing amazing, whether or not it passes the 360 isn't really a factor. Although with Sonys line up next year I would expect the ps3 to out sell the 360 world wide by a fair amount.
