Just wondering if anyone else felt this way. I'm always finding tons of great games on the DS that look like a lot of fun, and as great as they look, most of the console games just don't seem a lot of fun to me. Maybe it's because we have too many FPS games, I dunno. The DS just seems to have so much variety and has many RPGs.

Just wondering if anyone felt that way.

This is the first gen where I had alot of Handheld games. But I like both Handhelds and Consoles equally.

I do.

It has the most AAAe of all the consoles

and easily one of the most creative, and original libraries ever with a ton of variety in the genres.

I generally don't consider one console (handheld or home) more fun than any other. It comes down to the individual games.

I agree, the only thing this gen is about is graphic.

I don't own any console right now but when i do i will only buy WiiWare, xboxlive and psn games because i feel those game or more original.

Yes, the DS is king, it is going to be hard for any gaming console to ever take it's spot with some of the crazy numbers it seems to pull out.

mmm well I honestly take SMG over anything on my DS (not that I have too many games for the DS though) Though the wii lacking in the software department is no excuse to lower its standars compared to a handheld

Maybe not MORE fun than consoles, but the DS does have a truly amazing library and I spend way more time on it then I did with previous handhelds.

Nope not me. My GF has a PSP and DS, so I have both available to me but I just can't get the same experience. Right now I am loving fighters which is a genre not very fun to play on any handheld and with games like Batman AA and other games that leave me in awe, I just couldnt be happy with a handheld. Not to mention most of the other fun online games I play.

I'm finding it a lot harder to enjoy rpgs on a console (besides Tales of Vesperia, which was awesome). There are hardly any on the Wii anyway.

This. People just get overhyped with handheld games mostly because of the scores the games get, when it is basically a standards thing. Just like some people are starting to overhyped the Iphone because of the scores the games get in some sites like IGN.

I really like the DS and I've enjoyed mine quite a bit, but I do prefer home consoles.

The reason it has more AAAE games than any other system is because standards for Handheld games are massively different.

I have been gaming for years and years and I have NEVER liked portable gaming. Never will until the day I get a laptop that can play games. I simply cant stand looking at small screens and using the cumbersome controls.

Hell no! I practically never touch my DSi (unless I want to use the Flipnote app). Too many RPG, strategy, and family-friendly games. Not nearly enough straight-forward action games, or games that are geared towards teens and adults. So many games, yet a suprising lack of variety. That, and I never really forgave Nintendo for lying when the claimed that the DS would be geared mor towards teens and young adults until the system came out. What I saw was more of the same kiddie games that were already done on the GBA, only with better graphics and the use of a touch screen. I'm very dissapointed with the DS. I regret buying one.

I play my PC by far the most, and my PSP second.

I already said that the DS has too many RPG/Strategy games and too few games from other genres. There are some puzzle games, but not too many, and no where near enough action games. It has some action and racing games, but still, very few compared to the avalanche of strategy and RPG games. I don't like RPG or strategy games. I'm not talking different games in general. I was referring to games from different genres.

But the DS really does have a small number of action games pretty much compared to any system right now. That's the thing the I dislike the most about it. I don't like Contra 4, not interested in Metal SLug 7, don't like fighting games (not interesting in Bleach), I like GTA CW. Ninja Gaiden DS is fun at first, but then it jsut gets very repetitive. I still need to play Bangai O Spirits though, but it looks hard. That's about it really.

The DS pretty much stole this gen in terms of games. Even Japan is going handheld centric.
