I kinda do...I miss seeing games get 9.7's, or 8.9's.
*sigh*
Do the majority here like the system in place? Or prefer the old?

Not in the least. I don't at all miss the squabbling over a 0.1 score difference, or the arguments of numeric values applied to graphics, which is purely subjective to art direction and styIe. The 20 grade scale and medals is a vast improvement and efficient streamlining of the review system.
I guess I was just curious as to what the readers here thought.[QUOTE="siLVURcross"]What's the point? (no pun intended)Steve3950
I kind of wonder why they did it as well.
They probably did it to make it a lot easier for scoring, besides too many people bicker over 0.5 differences, I can't imagine 0.1 differences.I like the fact that scales were made for graphics and other elements but honestly, what's the difference between 8.3 game and an 8.4?
My inner geek kind of misses those miniscule point differences, but ultimately it was a good idea to scrap the rigid "Gameplay, Graphics, Sound, Value, Tilt" system, since penalizing a great game solely on the basis of subpar graphics or less than stellar melodies is rather absurd. The medals get the point across so much better.

I agree, I love the medals.
Because then it would be very difficult to claim ownage.i really dont think there should be any score attached. i think i speak for the majority of people on this site, most of us can read, so why not just read the written part and make the judgement if the game is worth a purchase based on that.

the only people getting owned are the ones who spend $60 on a game because they saw it got a 9.5 but they shortly realize they dont like those kinds of games.
Remember when Jeff gave Zelda: TP an 8.8? The losers that were whining and sending him death threats probably had something to do with the new system because it was changed soon after that.
Not at all. I wish they would drop the point system altogether. The old reviewers are what I missed... long before Gerstmann was ever in charge. When reviews actually read like they were written by an adult and didn't just complain about why the reviewer didn't like the game.
No, that has absoluely nothing to do with it. I don't even know where you got that from.Remember when Jeff gave Zelda: TP an 8.8? The losers that were whining and sending him death threats probably had something to do with the new system because it was changed soon after that.
