I hate fighting games but the original KI is one of the few I actually had fun with. Still, I have no interest in the new one.

I wasn't impressed by Killer Instinct back in the 90's, and I'm not impressed by this one either.

Don't like western fighting games. They're extremely mashy by nature, so I won't be missing anything important.

The only fighting game I'm waiting for now is the new Guilty Gear.

Its really the only game im disappointed in missing out on his coming gen.

KI was always superior to both SF and MK series. It had way more skill requirements to be decent at the game, so if this one holds up to that standard, then yeah its gonna be a great game and I probably iwll miss out on it.

More of a DOA,virtua fighter fan. also not liking the hit animations.. they look ridiculous. i'd love for them to be more fluid, but i supposed it would ruin this type of chaotic art style.

I highly doubt they will drop the price on a brand new system, even after a year of being on the market. I can't realistically see that happening.

SSF4 is undoubtedly a much better fighting game. USF4 will become a standard for a long time coming. Netherrealm's last two fighting games have been better looking than KI.

And when I say better looking, I don't mean graphically. This is a competitive fighter in name only. All flash, no substance. Won't get picked up by the FGC, can guarantee ya that one.

Really? Because two Youtubers Miles and Acidglow have actually played the game and have had mostly positive things to say about it. I don't know if this game is going to be picked up by the FGC but I've seen your post and you are a closet cow masking himself as a pseudo intellectual and really, that's the worst kind of cow.

@SonofK: I've played it myself, several times in fact. I KNOW fighting games, i've been around the FGC before streaming was even a thing. I didn't say the game was going to be bad, just not great, nor would it compete with the likes of the SF4 series.

For a $20 download-only day-1 game for a console launch, its fine. It has a good training mode and some online play, but thats about it as far as content is concerned. Too few characters, a few design inconsistencies in their mechanics, and no real good 'readable' moves for an audience makes this a quick affair. I'm sure it'll have a tiny community that swear by it, but it'll be forgotten once a few other fighting games get announced.

So, to put it shortly: It's a good fighting game, nostalgic fans of KI will enjoy it for the fan service, but it won't catch-on competitively or on a more 'casual' audience, it'll be forgotten within 6 months, and it won't be 'great' to the greater public. I think thats fair enough for a game like this.

This is one of the first games I'm gonna get mainly because its 20 bucks.

killer instinct is not a system seller to me and doubt it is too many people, looks fun though, is one of those game id play if i could or dont mind if i dont.

Visually it's a cartoon but mechanically it's a better game. I don't play shallow games or care about visuals, so it's pretty perfect. Besides, since when was KI ever mature or great as a fighting game?

I would understand Weapon Lord or other metal inspired fighting games, but really... Killer Instinct? Maybe if you like to play with GI Joes lol

500 euro is like infinite for a console, if they keep that price next holiday i will be VASTLY surprised

Also having a 500 euro price point when PS4 is double the power and 100 euro less is crazy even for this holiday, who is going to get a xbox one at that price and with the filler launch titles ?

so can anyone tell me why this game is 720p and not just put up to 1080p, surely a 3d fighter on a 2d platform should be able to handle it very well,

it looks like an ok fighter but it doesn't wow me, the only thing this does is bring back some fond memories of playing it on my snes. but it isn't that impressive i need to go spend a load of money to get a $20 game.

This is the only title I may miss. It looks KI ish enough. But, I still won't pay 500 dollars for the chance to play it.
