KI is the reason I have a day one X1 pre-ordered. Cant wait!

Killer Instinct is the one game on X1 That I wish was on PS4. The second I heard Microsoft bought Rare, I knew this game would happen and that I would be missing out on it.

Shame that I won't get it on PS4 as I absolutely loved the series back in the day, but no one game is worth $560. Not even if X1 got Shenmue 3.

Missing out on a game in a series that always had terrible gameplay. Nobody should be missing sleep over that.

Sony actually did a price cut on the PS3 like 7-8 months after launch. lol!! Then they did another price cut less then a year after that, before finally annoucing a PS3 Slim. I doubt Microsoft will announce a price cut within the first year. It'll most likely happen in 2015.

Don't kid yourself. The fighting looks like absolute shit and that is kind of a big deal considering it's a fighting game...

In order to miss out on something, you have to have an interest in it in the first place. I have no interest in KI.

KI does not look any better or more special than half a dozen other fighting games i have seen in the last year.

I don't like fighting games. It does suck that I'll be missing out on Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5, but I'll live...

I can't wait for KI, they already said when you buy the first season you get the original arcade KI and when you download the second season you get the original KI2, can't wait!!!

looked cool but its in 720p and is a fighter... i don't miss on fighting games especially when they look that simple and run in 720p on a $500 machine

Game looks great. One of the only reasons I'm still holding onto my pre-order.

That being said, I really don't play fighters on a pad, and until the mod PCB's come out to enable my existing sticks to work with the One, I'm not interested in fighting games on the box. I'm not buying a new $200 stick when there's nothing wrong with my existing sticks.

Not an issue for me, not really impressed with what I'm seeing on KI. Fighters generally don't excite me very much and top that off with the fact that you have to own an xbone means this game just isn't for me.

I can't justify spending $500 to play a genre I don't terribly like aside from a very small number of standout titles. Especially when it's in 720p.

Looks like a fun couch fighter but nothing I would ever take seriously. With that being said, I am happy with going the Ps4 route.

Huge ORIGINAL ARCADE 90's K.I. Fan, but I'm not HYPEd at all for this new version. Long list of reasons why on the gameplay front, which I attribute to poor development choices. I was a master of the original Killer Instinct in the Arcades winning money in tourneys, long before it was ported to SNES. I have my SNES copy of course, with case and KI music CD as well.

I remain optimistic though once I get my Xbone, but there are a lot of reasons not to be excited about what could potentially be a brand nostalgia exploitation. I hope my opinion changes when the final build of KI is released.

"edit" btw just learned from Acidglow who's a FGC commentator that the game has has footsies, zoning, mixups, crossups, tech grabs and combos. Most of the things people look for in a competitive fighting game.

These price cuts are not strange, i always remember consoles beeing vastly overpriced near launch and going down a lot a few months or a year later

Xbox 360 might have been a bit different, because they had a very cheap version at 300$ at launch, while PS3 was about 600$, the difference was immense

Now it is xbox one that is like PS3 case and i bet the drop will come in 2014 and not after the holidays

Also the 500$ price is outrageous, given it is so much weaker than PS4, i doubt they will find a lot of people to pay that to get such a low spec system, when the competion offers so much more for 100$ less

Either way you can download the game for free and see what it's like with Jago and gauge if the possible garbage game is worth dumping money into just to get the original game :) so it's win win if the new KI is even decent

theres something about this game which is extremely unappealing to me, I know i dont like the impact of the hits, its a bit weird like theres a strange freeze/slow down in between each hit, like it doesn't look smooth, I dont really know how to explain it.

but theres something else I cant quite put my finger on.

I've already stated this several times including once in this very conversation. I'm not buying either right now. But to answer your question no, but then again I wouldn't pay 400 dollars for Sony's crappy lineup of exclusives, terrible network infrastructure and weak PSN service. If they fix these in the future then will see.
