Game looks cool...I got a feeling that the game will be a lot better than people are trying to make themselves believe. Its just funny thinking that the majority of the haters are more than likely still going to buy it.Voyant
I think the game is going to be good but I am gonna have a hard time liking this main character,. He looks and sounds just like the kind of guy I'd rather use the real Dante to slap. Someone said that Dante was a douche and that is why we liked him and yes, he's a cool douche but this new guy, is the unlikable kind of douche.
My thoughts exactly...I wouldn't call it atrocious as such though, just cheesy as fvck. But we love that, so it's fine :P The main thing I was concerned with was the gameplay, it looked far too slow but in this trailer it was fast paced, I liked it. Also, the trailer made me laugh; so I'm slowly warming to it. Of course I'd much prefer a sequel with 'the old Dante', but hey, they're not making that, so i'll see what I think of this.
The dialogue is awful, but thats no surprise. But it looks better than every dmc before it. Playing through the dmc hd collection has taught me that dmc was never good. A terribly designed game with a good combat system. That's why Bayonetta crushes it.
Still reserved about this one... More so for the combat. It looks the same, why did they want to "reboot" it again? Also it's Ninja Theory, they haven't made good combat games yet, that don't feel well... original or solid.
There was like 10 seconds of gameplay and it didn't look bad to me. The voice acting was bad, but that's kind of expected, right? People are just mad because of the new character.
Problem with that video is that it doesn't look choreographic enough because DMC has always flowed like it was some sort of dance to fit with the rock music :D

Haven't read the entire thread but I want to give in my two cents.
1. The gameplay looks kinda good, I don't think it is worthy for a DMC game but it certainly does look good on its own. I'm just going pretend this is an entirely new game completely unrelated to the DMC we know and the name + summaries are purely accidental. This way I can judge the game completely on its own merits.
2. The story seems like it is really going to sucl but there is one plot point I'm interested im; Dante's father. In the real DMC Dante's father was a good demon that fell in love with a human and fought for the human race. I hoping for it to stay true to this in some way. The demons in this DMC seem to have even less character to them IMO...
