Anyone still saying L4D2 is a rehash has not played the demo!

You're right. L4D has helicopters, but L4D2 has chocolate helicopters. Way better.

I just got done with it... I obviously like it, seeings how it sticks faithfully with the original formula. It just seems as though they added in a little more gameplay color, with mele, defibulator and such. It seems like its also a little more atmospheric too. I like knowing im in Louisiana, the voice acting is great, graphics seem a ittle more crisp. What id really like is a story.

It's a rehash, not worth the asking price at all. Played no differently then the first L4D, other than the additions of melee weapons (which who cares when you have fing shotgun).

This is the exact same case with modern warfare 2. Take it how you like.

It adds some weapons and updates the graphics slightly......it could have been free DLC for those who payed full for L4D (which received one piece of very undeveloped DLC)Lethalhazard

Yup that about sums it up. I played 30 hours of the original L4D Demo and 80 hours of the actual game. That's a lot for me, I loved it. L4D 2 is just a content expansion. It looks the same, it playes the same but the maps are different and it's got a couple new models. Whoopee.

Yeah but now you can kick start your heart heart with a defibrillator . Now all they need in that game is some Motley crue. Zombies + Motley Crue = WIN

I've played the demo, more than once actually, and the the game doesn't do anything that the first didn't do already. I own the first L4D for 360 and I played the PC demo for L4D2 off of Steam and I really don't see any reason why anyone should have to pay full price for the new game. It is the epitome of a rehash or expansion.

Don't even try to get a serious opinion for left 4 dead in this board.

The "REHASH" that so many of you people are crying about is the same "REHASH" that plegues every single game made is it not? WHy change a formula that works?

I dont play online and didnt with the 1st one. BUT I can say that playing coop splitscreen is fun and entertaining. ANd thats all that matters to me. Me and my 2 boys played L4D demo probably 50 times easy. SO far we have played L4D2 demo about 15 times. WHY? Its just fun to play a game that not too deep or confusing or geared towards the brainiaks out there. Its just run N gun...simple as that and its fun.

And every thread like yours is a "REHASH" and it makes my reply a "REHASH"..;)

Or they played the demo but only once, they're probably the same people who said L4D had no replay value yet they only played the game once...I mean I loved L4D but thought the L4D2 demo was meh the first playthrough, but everytime after that it got better and better.bobbetybob

I own the first game and can honestly say I played it a lot and enjoyed it. Not so much after the patch Valve did, but up until then it was great fun with a group of friends. I've played the L4D2 demo at least 5 times now and I can say, it does feel pretty much the same. I'm not sure how I feel about the daytime settings. I know the full game has both, but I just feel like it kills the atmosphere from the first game.

The melee weapons and a few different campaigns aren't enough to make me NOT see this as a rehash or an expansion. As many have already said, all of this could've been available as DLC. Then fragmenting the community wouldn't be as big of a concern.

Plus, I don't really care for the new characters. I grew up with enough rednecks around me. I don't need Ellis to perpetually remind me of why I moved.

I really don't see too many "new" things it's lacking in honestly but If you didn't like l4d1 I could see why you wouldn't care too much for 2.

Not paying $45 for it though. It will be $25 in a Steam sale in no time. That's when I'll get it.

If games like Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Tales of Vesperia for PS3 are considered enhanced versions of the originals then with this is the same. Some improvements but overall it's the same game.Odrec
