Even though I can't wait to play it I honestly thought it looked kind of boring. Not to mention (I should prolly look into this for reasoning), but cow sound effects are really lame. :|-RPGamer-That looked boring? Then gears must put you to sleep, because that was some freaking intense gameplay right there!

I own a Wii and 360, I thought I could hold off getting a PS3 this year, but this trailer is the most awesome damn trailer I've ever seen for any machine this gen, of course the game could still turn out to be all graphics and average gameplay, but if it's as awesome as it looks in this trailer....
then I will go out and buy a PS3 on MGS4 release day...even though I can't really afford it...

If by intense you mean slow moving, watching the action for the majority of the vid followed by cow walkers who appear overly easy to dodge than yes I was amazed by the intensity.
wow thats cool i wonder if this means mods will be in MGS4footfoe2I don't think so mabey DLC and unlockables for sure.

It was just a walkthrough of what MGS4 will be about. Think of it as a showcase of what you could do.
I think we all know how MGS is. I haven't played Assasins Creed yet though. Looked kind of interesting

Don't get me wrong, I think MGS4 will be one of the best games this year has to offer. I just wasn't overly impressed with the showing in that vid, and you're prolly right it was more walkthrough/demo-ish. Assassin's Creed is a decent game, I really like it b/c I like rogue/stealth titles, but many people found it "repetitive".
The gameplay in MGS has never been good and most of the challenge came from the bad controls and weird AI.
The bosses are all simple pattern based affairs from the NES era (yes even the sniper battles have glaringly obvious patterns to their actions) and the game lives and dies on it's over the top cutscenes.

Yeah you could, it's part of the game. You can even befriend them and ask them to share the food :D

at best, this is opinion. or are you just out to bash this game at every chance? you don't make any sense with your negative comments. NES caliber patterns? if that's true, than what is better? can you think of other game's boss battles that are far superior? this is not constructive criticism. come up with some valid points.

True, true....
On top of the shallow gameplay add 20 hours of a story that doesn't make any sense and takes to long to make no sense, and that's the whole game right there.

Let's summarise every game!
GT: Bumper Car racing with a large roster of cars that all handle the same.
Forza: Cars that explode so you never finish
Gears of War: 6 hours of man on man love, with guns.
Fable: 12 hours of hitting the lighting smash button until you win

Everything in that post was wrong. The game has always had deep, intricate gameplay that allowed you to do eliminate people in tons of ways. The gameplay is satisfying and intense, and there is nothing wrong with the AI.
The bosses in MGS are among the best in gaming. Your argument is terrible.

Was I supposed to be impressed by that? I was thinking about actually buying this game but forget it, that looked terrible. Juggernaut140Well in your opinion what game looks better?

lol at deep intricate gameplay are you kidding? Eliminate people in tons of ways? No and no. Let's not forget it has the worst camera in gaming history through the first three games and it wasn't until Subsistence and MGS4 they decided to fix it.
Your argument is laughable.

you didn't even provide any details. you have no arguement.
you can shoot gaurds in specific zones for different reactions, like disarming him or destroying his radio. 5 different grenades, each with different uses, like covering infiltration with smoke, or preventing backup arrival like electronic chaff grenades. you can select the firing mode for automatic weapons and choose whether or not to use suppressors on them. how about the fact that most of the time, there are several different methods of infiltrating a location, such as a crawl space, or an option to use a disguise?
or how about alternate cinematics, or even alternate encounters, like killing the End early on and instead of facing one supernatural sniper, you face a team of Spetsnaz snipers?
how about the CQC system, by which you can grab the enemy and choke them, slash their throat, throw them to the ground. pulling off CQC is as simple as looking at the manual and comprehending the fact that the PS controller utilizes the pressure-sensitive buttons. think about the player's ability to hold enemies up at gunpoint, and take items from them. would you rather snipe the enemy with the loud, long range Dragunov rifle, or would you rather snipe with a silenced, but less accurate assault rifle?
I shouldn't even have to explain these simple facts to you. those options are there, and different players have the opportunity to go nuts and have fun while feeling like a badass spy the whole time.
