Apart from BluRay, what advantages does the PS3 have over the 360??

as for the hardware....multiplats run better on the 360...free online is ok but the flip side is its lower quality, ps3 is still substantially more expensive than the 360, who cares if some 360 exclusives go to the PC?

As much as I'm playing into the Lemming "just wait" argument here, when purchasing a console, it's a good idea to consider what games are available at present and what games will be available in the future. When you're dropping $400 on something, unless money is not an issue for you, you must look at the purchase as an investment. Future exclusives, right or wrong, are a big factor for a lot of people. I bought a PS3 because I knew MGS4, LittleBigPlanet, God of War 3, FFXIII, etc... would be coming later. In the meantime, there are enough decent exclusives/multiplatform games to keep me satisfied.

Anyway, to answer your question, in addition to Blu-ray functionality, one major advantage the PS3 has over the 360 is reliability. Believe it or not, this is pretty important.

Ultimately, though, exclusive games are one advantage (depending upon one's preferences) that the PS3 has over the 360. You won't be able to play any of the aforementioned games on the 360. No, they're not here yet, but they will be, and they will be most likely be fantastic.

Personally I think exclusives such as Uncharted, Warhawk and R & C are every bit as good as Halo 3, Mass Effect and Gears of War. I suppose I'm just a Sony fanboy.

As for franchise exclusives you talk to someone who's owned nothing but playstations halo isn't exactly top on their list of games. Wondering why someone would want to play one console over another is like going to Japan and wondering why they would want to play arcade games over console games....maybe it just fits their tastes?

I prefer to play games, not watch cutscenes, in response to the obnoxious MGS 4 picture.

Also I went from the PS2 to the 360. I get whichever console has the better games, and in this case, 360 won by quite a long distance.

If Sony pull their act together and stop charging stupid amounts of money for consoles, I might consider getting one next gen if they stop delaying everything constantly and stop making stupid design choices - no rumble....yea nice brain explosion there sony....

I duno wtf youre mentioning Geomotory Wars for....but if you have a good enough PC to play ME and dont have a 360, fine with me, ive already beaten it like 4 times and have moved on....

um...i duno where the hell you live but where I live a 360 is about $400 AU and a PS3 40mb is $600AU

Thats BS because 360 has it's share of design flaws....I mean who's bright idea was it to put the hottest side of the 360 face down so all the heat rises back up through the console like a bloody oven? If it were flipped over it would have the heat spouting right up and out of the console and not overheating it. You can't seriously say that it's the PS3's 'stupid design choices' that affected your descision becuase they certainly didn't effect you buying a 360.

The PS3 started out at $1000AU...

So yea, basically gutted the BC out of it, and made it 400 bucks cheaper, and its still a lot more expensive than the 360.

They almost halved the price(also half the storage space and no BC) and its still 200 bananas more than the 360.

Hell I could get a half decent used car for 1000 bucks.

Better Hardware, seriously the 360 is a great system but I can't stand the noise it makes.

Free PSN, you do get what you pay for but it has only improved and the most important update comes June 10th I beleive.

Wi-fi if you need it.

As you mentioned Blu-ray.

Load of multiplats the Wii doesn't get.

All systems are good just depends on your taste.

PS3 is sexier (just my opinion).

It has 7.1 surround sound.

Wireless internet is built into every model currently in production.

The PSN community is less immature than the XBL community. There is always going to be a jackass online though, but not as many as XBL.

It's got more confirmed exclusives coming out in the future.

It's MUCH MUCH more reliable.

It's quieter, and much more sturdy.

The controller has a battery built in, you don't need to change the batteries.

Blu Ray disks are scratch proof.

Backwards compatiability isn't as limited.

All games are region free.

You don't have to pay anything to change your gamertag.
