LMAO yeah that was great. Though I still think that Valve games should be for Computers only. I just don't see them in consoles like on the Xbox 360 for example.

Never! I'd be heartbroken if Half-Life 3 didn't make it to the 360, or at least some console, I loved Half-Life 2 on the 360 Orange Box. :(

who cares ... any real valve fan owns a decent enough PC to play their games the way they are meant to be played.

"Yeah, who cares about the Valve fanbase on the 360, why don't they just go out and spend $700-1000 for a new gaming PC to play the same versions of games they have on 360?" Why is that Valve games are "meant" to be played on PC? The controls, gameplay, graphics, all is just fine. Well, graphics will probably look tad nicer on PC, but regardless, that's a pretty arrogant statement.

They're talking about all the different platforms Valve games are going on, and one guy asks the other "I wonder what other platforms will get the Valve games before PS3", then he goes on the ATM machine, and even it has Valve games on it.

Graphics look a good deal nicer actually, but the main advantage is running everything at sixty frames per second. Some (myself included) prefer the keyboard and mouse too, and one can always just use a gamepad should that be their preference. Additionally, Valve seems to support the PC more, with regular free content for TF2, among other things. Valve games are also notable for their moddability, which is another arguable benefit, given the breadth of content available.

Not that there is anything wrong with the 360 versions of course, but they are certainly more of a PC dev.

I agree on this one. I couldnt imagine playing any valve game on consoles. Ive seen videos of orange box on 360 and it just looks so slugish and stiff, really doesnt do the game justice. It would be like playing a RTS made for the PC on consoles, it just doesnt work.

Ohhh, for some reason I didn't think that the ATM had the games on there to play. Meh I don't find it funny, but that's probably because I didn't get it the first time :P.

In complete fairness, if I owned a 360, and enough of my friends were getting the game on said platform, I would probably pick that up on there, in addition to the PC version. You are right about the controls though... it just feels a bit off. Kind of hard to explain. I'm no pro with dual analog anyways... :P

I would have thought the 360 version was at 60 FPS if I hadn't just found out. Is it 30 then? Oh well. The TF2 thing ticked me off though. PC players got customizable classes and new maps while 360 and PS3 owners got the finger from Valve. I don't understand why consoles couldn't have been updated, it's ridiculous. Now mods, and graphics, that's really just an all-around PC benefit. I can see why people would play PC over consoles because of mods or control preference, but is it really the console's fault Half-Life 2 was apparently a sloppy port and TF2 had no updates, or is it a lack of effort from Valve?

It is certainly a lack of effort, and that is part of my point; Valve is, and always has been, more inclined to update the PC versions of their games (for free too, although pricing of content on consoles is not their fault, if I recall correctly), which is another reason why folk here will say that PC is the premier platform for Valve games.

The 360 versions are not bad at all though; in fact, I would argue that they are under-rated by PC gamers, given that the most important aspect of them, the gameplay, is there, and it's solid. I personally am not a fan; as I mentioned in another post, the controls just feel off to me, a tad sluggish, but that is probably just me, and I'm used to playing the games with a mouse and keyboard anyways... :P

Well I'm not saying that Valve's games on the Xbox 360 are terrible but they seem right only for computers. And keep in mind that I am not a PC fanboy. I also own a PS3 and my computer can't run Left4Dead 1 and 2. And to be honest I don't care if they never come out on the PS3 because I am going to buy a new computer when I'm finished College and get a job to try these games out. I enjoyed playing the Orangebox games on my PC rather on the PS3 because as I said it works better on PC. In fact I play all of my Valve games on my computer only.
