True. I understand Guerilla's ambition to make an FPS with more realistic character movement. But making such a radical departure from the "ususal" shooter control formula requires caution and very good execution.It doesn't have to be exactly like other FPSs. Not shooting while jumping can change the pace and sty/e of the gameplay, offering a different experience. That kind of thing can be good in its own way.

Come on guys. How many war stories have you heard where a soldier jumped off a rooftop and got 3 headhots before hitting the ground. Yes, it's pretty cool to do, but it's not something you HAVE to have. Besides, how do you guys know you can't do that? Just wait until it's released.
I think it's funny lemmings are bashing a preview build of a game.
It's great, if all you have to complain about on a preview build is the controls. With at least 4-5 months still to go you know it's only getting better from here.

Nope it gives the person a unfair advantage on the ground because they can shoot at you falling and you cant shoot at them while falling.
yeah, and not every other step in mulitplayer FPSs is over a ledge. it just means that those few who find themselves out in the open, falling, and being shot at need to work around it next time. think about it, they aren't shoehorning this "no-shoot-while-jump" concept into some other game where it's designed for players to jump and shoot. if everything mostly complements each other: the weapons, the maps, possible vehicles, or your vaunted elevators, there's not going to be a problem, and certianly no place for someone to impose ideas out the blue for how things "should" be(especially before we get long-term hands on experience to test that balance).
developers really dont think anymore...ok...so if i jump off a high platform in killzone2 multiplayer and someones below me they can shoot at me while im falling...yet i cant return fire untill im on the ground again...that's called unfair advantage.

Okay, but do you know if there will be tons and tons of high platforms with very easily exploitable shooting zones all the way down? What if Guerilla implements realistic fall damage, whereby it would be unwise for any player to go doing dives in the middle of a warehouse anyway?
I havent heard anyone complain about the Killzone 2 controls yet, and I've read 1,000 previews.
Hopefully it wont be a problem when the game hits. I cant wait.

I'm all for a little healthy realism when it comes to Killzone (I still don't see a reason to get excited about it), but you're complaining about something that we have no idea about in terms of implementation. It could be awful, sure, but it could just as easily be balanced out through other means. The fact is, we simply don't know.
Balance can be maintained through a lot of different, often subtle, means.

Okay...you know better then me in regards to whether or not I played the first one. :roll: If you seriously believe that the first one controled fine then you obviously need to play a FPS title with great controls. The first one had sluggish controls and denying it won't make it untrue. Face the facts and that's simply that the first Killzone looked great (considering the hardware) but played like crap thanks to the crummy controls.What what what? I've played Stalker, Crysis, Doom 3, Red Faction 1-2, Halo1-3, a billion ww2 games and a billion other first person shooters ranging from daikatana to chaser (JoWood **** me up with that ending.) to half life 1-2... I'm not claiming that Killzone had the best controls ever, but since I am not a complete moron, I found it extremely easy to use the controls that were set.

May i point everyone attention to this video who is saying the game has sluggish controls. A dev named Motherh is playing in this video and it shows if someone who actually is GOOD or knows how to play games will control it will. Also anyone who is familiar with battlefield bad company that is that the games aiming looks like to me but smoother.
Well its an exclusive FPS game for a Playstation using the same controller, what do you expect.
If you want a console that perfected the FPS genre right to the very tips of its controllers, you know what console that is.

This bad news or any bad news doesn't change the fact that the hype for Killzone 2 remains 9.5, 9.0, AAAE.
