Yeah, >50,00o games is cool, but when you have 1000 variants of a massage game and 3000 varients of bejeweled and tetris, that number is a lot less impressing and much more imposing. Chances are more likely you will miss a gem and wind up with a dud.

You really have no idea how big Apple is do you?

They are worth over $200 billion. That's nothing to crack up about adn their little apps and Itunes is serious business.

I think there is a lot of fear here among established fanboys otherwise why would Apple topics to tend to pop up now andthen and grab their attention and response!

DS gamers needn't worry as Nintendo is known for making stellar games, the only thing ds gamers should concern themselves with is that Nintendo will finally have a proper handheld rival throughout their gaming history, but then that's not really considered a bad thing does it? Proper competition and more choice for consumers.

on the other hand for Sony PSP fans? what can I say its the fear of the PSP becoming irrelevant what with PSP Go, getting squashed by DS and now Apple entering the fray. If the concern of Apple shoving the PSP to third place is a big deal why don't a majority of PSP owners buy more games and support the PSP GO more substantially. money talks , fanboyism walks.

that's why there are review sites like Gamespot, IGN that reviews games on Itunes.

Itunes is not going to go away and Apple is obviously showing some interest in gaming sothey will want to step up the screening and quality process.

Most of their games are rehased like Tony Hawk 2 and Street Fighter 4. I do think though they can handle ds games and maybe psp games because they do have china town wars.

But the biggest problems with the games are the controls. Games like Asscreed and madden 10 have horrible controls that are easy to handle on the psp

it hasn't stopped people buying and reviewing those game on Itunes.

with a bigger real estate screen for your thumbs it should make things better.

and so what if they are rehashes? then games on demand on XboxLive and PS one Classics on PSn are rehases then, doesn't stop them from being fun or requested.

Street Fighter 4 didn't that just come out last year and can benefit the most forn controls on the bigger screen.

Going by sales they are high but going by products they are lower than even dell.

It's a good thing there are plenty of iDiots out there who will fork over large sums of money for low end stripped hardware.

Apple does one thing good and that is marketing, but that is the most I can say about positives.

There won't be an Apple gaming console or handheld in the near future. Apple has zero interest in trying to appeal solely to the gaming market. There is also no real incentive for developers to make games for iWhatever. Apple takes a large premium from sales, there is a huge number of competiting games that generally have a very low price point, and large majority of the install base is not interested in DS/PSP style games. iWhatever gamer's really have nothing to rejoice about. There most likely won't be changes in amount of quality games released. Apple is pushing hardware like crazy. There is no real reason to push for quality games on their platforms when mini games are exactly what their install base wants.

Classic case of Quality over Quantity.

An improved control method, decent 3rd party support, maybe even a decicated games studio and they could be serious competition. But that chart is a joke.

Apple has a point with Nintendo's DS, but not the PSP. The PSP is so much better then the DS they shouldn't even be used in the same comparision.

The handheld market will forever be dominated by Nintendo, so Apple really in my eyes only has a shot at people who are Macfreaks and only buy Apple products. Lets face it Apple's whole...well...entirety is just to far lost to make any difference. They claim superiority but are really just struggling to stay "hip". The only reason people buy Apple stuff is because it is "cool" to do so, no other reason. Even on Jimmy Fallon it was seen when the guy brought on the iPad, Jimmy was talking about how he loves his kindle and then the guy says, "Yeah but now you can look cool doing it." and that was the big sale. I know this is a plug but still the whole thing is its coolness. Itunes is a train wreck to even hassle with and honestly not worth it. Overall I think that if Apple decides to get into the gaming market it will be a Macguy only buy and will be lost in time.
