guess I'll have to concede on this.

I own an iTouch, and the games currently suck TBH, buttons being one of the problems.

this solves it, but the games still don't interest me, YET.

Well at least if we are recognizing the iTouch platforms as gaming systems, the Wii no longer has to bear the burden of having the lowest quality lineup of the current platforms.

eh, you can keep trying TC...but i'll still only use this thing for casual quick type games

i just can't get immersed into a deep game with this thing...i've tried so many times, lol

whatever games that both the iphone and DS have (or PSP for that matter) i will ALWAYS be more immersed in the game on the DS

chinatown wars was just not my fancy on the iphone...waste of $10...but on the DS i've played it for hours

According to score aggregate sites, on average, Wii games are scored much lower than games on PS3 and X360. It has great games, but they are drowning those great games in garbage. Same for the iTouch platforms, except even worse.

Still it needs games and well something besides a control to be considered a gaming handheld. Games aren't even close to the main focus of the iPos Touch or the even worse iPad

Except Ipod Touch is getting more quality games this year than the DS has and allready has 1 more AAA unless you count nintendogs 3 times

If the iPod/iPhone actually had a decent number of deep gaming experiences, people would acknowledge it as a games machine. It doesn't though. It offers no more advanced a gaming experience than any free browser game you could be playing right now.

if the iPad comes with this controller in future iterations and when it drops about $300 off the price...then i might consider the iPhone/iTouch/iPad library a good contender to the DS and PSP libraries (well, DS mainly :P)

it'd be like a nice little portable gaming tv...lol

32gb 3G enabled iPad with stand and controller for $249.99

yea...i'd buy that in a heart beat

How so? And even if that WERE true (which it isn't...), the logic that any statement a person makes automatically has no merit because a staff member at Gamespot said otherwise is ridiculous.

I own all three systems, and Wii games get lower scores on average because developers are flooding the system with cheap cash in games due to how popular it is, and hardcore game developers are being turned away due to how poorly their games sell in comparison to garbage like Just Dance, which barely qualifies as a game at all. The rest of your post is a rambling nonsensical mess, though I think you said Conduit 2 would be a "Halo Killer". Which is laughable at the very least.

Faulty logic, right there. You make the mistake of thinking that the iPhone's games are of the same quality as the PSP or DS's in that you seem to think their review scores are comparable. Do you think an FPS on the PSP would be the same game as on the iPhone? No, of course not. Your AAA iPhone games are AAA games by iPhone standards; that is, the standards of a small cellular phone, not a games console.

9 is a 9 by CONSOLE STANDARD. Iphone is not a CONSOLE, and its not a HAND HELD CONSOLE. Its a MOBILE PHONE hence DIFFERENT STANDARD. If you wanna compare reviews, compare them to the Ovi Store games, or Android Market games, but DS and PSP? Bogus Logic

Just noting that there are several *enhanced* ports of DS and PC games on the iPhone, all sold for only a fraction of the price as the originals. It is true that iPhone AAA standards are different from DS ones, but that does not necessarily mean the standards are lower.

Quite the opposite, actually, as iPhone games are often cheaper and more technically impressive than DS games, hence the large number of AAA games.

Except I argued this with you yesterday that a "a 9 is a 9" holds no merit when you compare vastly different platforms. That and these aren't GS reviews, again, for the third time. So if GS reviews matter more than opinion, GS only bothers to review anything OTHER than phones. So what does that mean? Well in your opinion the iPhone is a comparable gaming device to DS/PSP. In GS's opinion, it is not as they do not wish to even review games on it. So by your own logic that GS opinion > our opinion, the iPhone is null and void. Spin that one.

ever heard about standards?

I could say the same to DS gamers saying PS is judged higher... It's games are compared to PS2 games and sometimes even PS3 N64 is the highest DS is judged to??

Also Ipod touch has the highest specs so yeah...

1) They're not even GS reviews. They're reviewed by a website which exclusively reviews iPhone games. 2) You cannot choose to just ignore simple logic. 'A 9 is a 9' is not an accurate statement. A 9 on a cell phone is very much different to a 9 on a high-end PC, isn't it? World at War got an 8.5 on the iPhone. Are you telling me that game is comparable to World at War on the 360 at the PS3? No, obviously not. On the iPhone all it has is one map in which zombies walk towards you, and you tap on the screen to shoot them. That may be a good game by iPhone standards, but it obviously would not score so highly if it were released as it is on the PSP or the DS or any other proper games platform, would it?

Oh boy, Apple patents. Now they get to sue everyone with a preexisting gamepad accessory (which can be quickly found with a Google search), destroy competition, and release their own overpriced version!

Now please go look at the DS line up this year XD

ever heard about standards?

I could say the same to DS gamers saying PS is judged higher... It's games are compared to PS2 games and sometimes even PS3 N64 is the highest DS is judged to??

Also Ipod touch has the highest specs so yeah...

right...cause highest specs means better quality games 100% of the time

I still don't consider it a gaming device but I think its cool

You can race modified lawnmowers, but that doesn't make them race cars

So now I have to pay to play iphone games the way they should have been since the start? I'm sorry but that's gotta be the biggest waste of cash... Even though I MIGHT get an iphone, I will never use it as a game console. Still not a gaming console to me...

That's funny, I could have sworn that PSP games are larger, greater and richer than any iphone games. Not to mention much better graphics....

Pretty much this. Just because something can play games, that doesn't automatically qualify it as a gaming device. And no, the iPhone IS NOT a gaming device. If it were a gaming device, it would not be called the iPHONE. Hence, it's actually just a phone that can play games...fancier ones with higher production values than most, mind you, but at the end of the day it's still just another phone playing games.

wait, i thought the iphone was perfect? lmao at apple. at this rate you should have half decent controls by 2012, and it'll only cost you a hundred bucks extra for a peripheral. what a steal!

whatever, there's still only one Apple fanboy on this forum that likes the N-gage better than the DS.
