They want 60$ for their POS ear buds for the iPod that break all the time. This things price tag will probably stop in the high 100 mark

Nokia N series support Ngage 2.0 games, does it make it a gaming console? It has OVI store for downloadable games. Same applies to Android Phones and WM phones.

Apple should make a real handheld with buttons, joysticks and a good battery life, they can't waste the appstore imo

In the case of the iPhone, there is even a non-phone version: the iPod Touch. You may want to dismiss the Touch as also not a gaming system. So the PSP, then, is not a portable media player? Then why is Sony bothering with these features at all, including a new media platform to compete with iTunes?

People here are making multi-functionality as something that somehow detracts from a system's merits as a gaming device. But that is the direction every device is headed in, including the so-called gaming systems.

You really don't get it do you? The DS is a much better GAMING platform than the iPod. This can be proven by the amount of quality games & install base.

The iPod was never intended to go against the the DS. NEVER. It can play games but that does not mean it will be a direct competitor to Nintendo or Sony.

Nintendo is a gaming company. Sony is an electronics giant that has a (somewhat) succesfulgaming division. Apple is a computer manufacturer. They do not have a dedicated gaming division like Sony, Nintendo, or MSoft. They tried gaming but failed which is why they've never ventured to far into it.

You can say what you want but the DS kicks the iPod's rear when it comes to gaming. Which is something that is essential when it comes to being considered a GAMING platform.

You have yet to provide a legitimate arguement on why the iPod is worse than the DS. In all of your threads you've been getting owned left and right for what you say and it has never occured to you that you are wrong.

Only idiot "journalists" and fanboys like you claim that the iPod is a competetor to the DS and PSP. But ignorance really is bliss.
