We can all agree that the biggest gripes by the anti PS3 posters on this forum is that the PS3 doesnt have any real big exclusives out right now and that the big titles keep getting pushed back. And with the exception of MGS 4 that statment will hold true to the years end. Sony is in a good position right now to make their move on Microsoft but without the software to back it up I dont see how they can do it. With games like Final Fantasy, God of War, Tekken, and Gran Turismo set to release in 2009, it may be a case of too little too late. I guess time will tell if MGS and Socom can push the number of systems that Sony hopes they will.

I think Resistance 2 is considered a pretty big exclusive now. I don't think the delays are killing them since it's not in last place each month, but it is hindering the growth for sure.

yeah, Delays suck But most of the time they are necessary.

Killzone 1 was not pushed back and lets just say, I could have been a lot better with a nice delay.

Yeah, I'd say the delays hurt but they certainly aren't killing the PS3.

Agreed, the PS3 is still selling at worst 1 for 1 with 360. If anything, the delays are keeping it from dusting the 360 right now. I would expect that to pick up. As stated in another post Resistance 2 is now a major exclusive as well as Motorstorm Pacific Rift (both out in the fall). Little Big Planet was only delayed a month, so its an October release. There are several more to add to the list like Socom Confrontation, Disgaea 3, and Valkyria Chronicles that are not delayed. Plus Bioshock is out in October on PS3. Killzone 2 is really the only major delay at this point, and its probably for the best as far as sales go. There is no reason to put it up against Resistance 2, so they can cannibalize each other.

Slowing sales a lot, but it's hardly dying. The gap between PS3 and 360 is closing.

Delays aren't good, but sometimes they are necessary to improve the game. I'd say it's not killing it, but it's not doing anything good for it either.

It means a better game, but at the end of the day it's hardly making up for the lesser sales.

nothing is killing the ps3. it just needs more time because of blu-ray pushing the prices up.

fony always delay their big games to keep people wanting the games and building hype...

we may as well put our machines away in a cupboard until these games see the light of day....well mine just collects dust anyway.

well the lack of games is making the PS3 look like a joke - but at the same time, i'm more than happy to wait for decent games and buy a ps3 when they get here

theres plenty of ps3 exclusives i like, just down to taste, fanboys seem to want to make there opinion fact which just dosent work, cant remember the last time a good 360 exclusive came out, paid out for a new elite and no big exclusive to justify it

The biggest thing hurting PS3 is its price.

Its a good thing that ps3 will last 10 years.....because at this rate the big guns will arrive sometime in 2012!!! MGS not included.

Its surely has to be down to the difficulty of programming for ps3? because i see nothing groundbreaking that needs all that dev time. It cant be helping Sony that xbox can churn out the releases each year, with new playable games at each game show, leaving Sony looking silly when they are still showing the same stuff they showed in '05

I would rather have delays on a system that is reliable than on a system that could and has been almost proven will fail at any time. The PS3 games will pick-up within the next year in titles and in the end could have as many titles as the PS2 does now, possibly more.

Why would the release of big 2009 games be too late ? Too late for what exactly ?

Delays kill any platform if they are consistent enough. The ideal is to have quality titles span across the year to keep players hooked to the PS3. But if there are droughts this can really hurt sales. If PS3 didn't have so many delays then it would be in a lot better shape than it is now.

It's not killing the PS3, but it's definately not helping it either.
